كتاب اللباس
Rapporté par Ibn `Abbas : Le Prophète (ﷺ) imitait les gens des Écritures dans les choses où il n’y avait pas d’ordre d’Allah. Les gens des Écritures laissaient leurs cheveux retomber, tandis que les polythéistes séparaient leurs cheveux au milieu. Donc, le Prophète (ﷺ) a d’abord laissé ses cheveux retomber, puis plus tard, il les a séparés

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُحِبُّ مُوَافَقَةَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فِيمَا لَمْ يُؤْمَرْ فِيهِ، وَكَانَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ يَسْدِلُونَ أَشْعَارَهُمْ، وَكَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَفْرُقُونَ رُءُوسَهُمْ، فَسَدَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَاصِيَتَهُ، ثُمَّ فَرَقَ بَعْدُ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:The Prophet (ﷺ) used to copy the people of the Scriptures in matters in which there was no order from Allah. The people of the Scripture used to let their hair hang down while the pagans used to part their hair. So the Prophet (ﷺ) let his hair hang down first, but later on he parted it

ہم سے احمد بن یونس نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے ابراہیم بن سعد نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے شہاب نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اگر کسی مسئلہ میں کوئی حکم معلوم نہ ہوتا تو آپ اس میں اہل کتاب کے عمل کو اپناتے تھے۔ اہل کتاب اپنے سر کے بال لٹکائے رکھتے اور مشرکین مانگ نکالتے تھے۔ چنانچہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بھی ( اہل کتاب کی موافقت میں ) پہلے سر کے بال پیشانی کی طرف لٹکاتے لیکن بعد میں آپ بیچ میں سے مانگ نکالنے لگے۔
