Rapporté par Abu Qatadah رضي الله عنه : Le Prophète ﷺ a demandé à Abu Bakr : « Quand fais-tu le witr ? » Il a répondu : « Je fais la prière du witr en début de nuit. » Le Prophète ﷺ a demandé à Omar : « Quand fais-tu le witr ? » Il a répondu : « À la fin de la nuit. » Il a alors dit à Abu Bakr : « Celui-ci l’a fait avec précaution » ; et il a dit à Omar : « Celui-ci l’a fait avec force. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَلَفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا، يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ السَّيْلَحِينِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لأَبِي بَكْرٍ " مَتَى تُوتِرُ " قَالَ أُوتِرُ مِنْ أَوَّلِ اللَّيْلِ . وَقَالَ لِعُمَرَ " مَتَى تُوتِرُ " . قَالَ آخِرَ اللَّيْلِ . فَقَالَ لأَبِي بَكْرٍ " أَخَذَ هَذَا بِالْحَزْمِ " . وَقَالَ لِعُمَرَ " أَخَذَ هَذَا بِالْقُوَّةِ " .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated AbuQatadah: The Prophet (ﷺ) asked AbuBakr: When do you observe the witr? He replied: I observe the witr prayer in the early hours of the night. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked Umar: When do you observe the witr? He replied: At the end of the night. He then said to AbuBakr: This has followed it with care; and he said to Umar: He has followed it with strength
Traduction en ourdou
ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا: تم وتر کب پڑھتے ہو؟ ، انہوں نے عرض کیا: میں اول شب میں وتر پڑھتا ہوں، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا: تم کب پڑھتے ہو؟ ، انہوں نے عرض کیا: آخر شب میں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابوبکر سے فرمایا کہ انہوں نے احتیاط پر عمل کیا، اور عمر سے فرمایا کہ انہوں نے مشکل کام اختیار کیا جو طاقت و قوت کا متقاضی ہے ۱؎۔
