Rapporté par Ibn ‘Abbas رضي الله عنه : J’ai passé une nuit chez ma tante maternelle Maymouna. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ est arrivé après le coucher du soleil. Il a demandé : « Le garçon a-t-il prié ? » Elle a répondu : « Oui. » Ensuite, il s’est allongé jusqu’à ce qu’une partie de la nuit passe, selon la volonté d’Allah ; puis il s’est levé, a fait ses ablutions et a prié sept ou cinq rak‘at, accomplissant le witr avec elles. Il a prononcé la salutation seulement à la dernière rak‘ah

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الأَسَدِيُّ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ : بِتُّ عِنْدَ خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةَ فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَعْدَ مَا أَمْسَى فَقَالَ : " أَصَلَّى الْغُلاَمُ " . قَالُوا : نَعَمْ . فَاضْطَجَعَ حَتَّى إِذَا مَضَى مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ قَامَ فَتَوَضَّأَ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى سَبْعًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْتَرَ بِهِنَّ لَمْ يُسَلِّمْ إِلاَّ فِي آخِرِهِنَّ .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:I spent a night with my maternal aunt Maimunah. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came after the evening has come. He asked: Did the boy pray ? She said: Yes. Then he lay down till a part of night had passed as much as Allah willed; he got up, performed ablution and prayed seven or five rak'ahs, observing witr with them. He uttered the salutation only in the last of them

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ میں ایک رات اپنی خالہ ام المؤمنین میمونہ کے پاس رہا، شام ہو جانے کے بعد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لائے اور پوچھا: کیا بچے نے نماز پڑھ لی؟ لوگوں نے کہا: ہاں، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم لیٹ گئے یہاں تک کہ جب رات اس قدر گزر گئی جتنی اللہ کو منظور تھی تو آپ اٹھے اور وضو کر کے سات یا پانچ رکعتیں وتر کی پڑھیں اور صرف آخر میں سلام پھیرا۔
