Rapporté par 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنه : Un homme a interrogé le Messager d’Allah ﷺ au sujet de la prière de nuit. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « La prière de nuit se fait par unités de deux rak‘as. Mais si l’un d’entre vous craint que l’aube approche, qu’il prie une rak‘a pour rendre sa prière impaire. »

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، : أَنَّ رَجُلاً، سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم : " صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، فَإِذَا خَشِيَ أَحَدُكُمُ الصُّبْحَ صَلَّى رَكْعَةً وَاحِدَةً تُوتِرُ لَهُ مَا قَدْ صَلَّى " .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar:A man asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about the prayer at night. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Prayer during the night should consist of pairs of rak'ahs, but if one of you fears the morning is near he should pray one rak'ah which will make his prayer an odd number for him
Traduction en ourdou
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے رات کی نماز ( تہجد ) کے بارے میں پوچھا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: رات کی نماز دو دو رکعت ہے، جب تم میں سے کسی کو یہ ڈر ہو کہ صبح ہو جائے گی تو ایک رکعت اور پڑھ لے، یہ اس کی ساری رکعتوں کو جو اس نے پڑھی ہیں طاق ( وتر ) کر دے گی ۱؎ ۔
