Hadith 4806 — Livre 43: General Behavior (Kitab Al-Adab)

Rapporté par Abdullah ibn ash-Shikhkhir : Je suis allé avec une délégation des Banu Amir auprès du Messager d’Allah ﷺ, et nous avons dit : « Tu es notre seigneur (sayyid). » Il a répondu : « Le Seigneur, c’est Allah, le Béni et l’Exalté. » Nous avons dit : « Et tu es celui d’entre nous qui a le plus de mérite et de supériorité. » Il a répondu : « Dites ce que vous avez à dire, ou une partie de ce que vous avez à dire, et ne laissez pas le diable vous entraîner. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُفَضَّلِ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَسْلَمَةَ، سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، قَالَ قَالَ أَبِي انْطَلَقْتُ فِي وَفْدِ بَنِي عَامِرٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقُلْنَا أَنْتَ سَيِّدُنَا . فَقَالَ " السَّيِّدُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى " . قُلْنَا وَأَفْضَلُنَا فَضْلاً وَأَعْظَمُنَا طَوْلاً . فَقَالَ " قُولُوا بِقَوْلِكُمْ أَوْ بَعْضِ قَوْلِكُمْ وَلاَ يَسْتَجْرِيَنَّكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ " .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Abdullah ibn ash-Shikhkhir: I went with a deputation of Banu Amir to the apostle of Allah (ﷺ), and we said: You are our lord (sayyid). To this he replied: The lord is Allah, the Blessed and Exalted. Then we said: And the one of us most endowed with excellence and superiority. To this he replied: Say what you have to say, or part of what you have to say, and do not let the devil make you his agents
Traduction en ourdou
مطرف کے والد عبداللہ بن شخیر کہتے ہیں کہ میں بنی عامر کے وفد میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس گیا، تو ہم نے عرض کیا: آپ ہمارے سید، آپ نے فرمایا: سید تو اللہ تعالیٰ ہے ۱؎ ہم نے عرض کیا: اور آپ ہم سب میں درجے میں افضل ہیں اور دوستوں کو نوازنے اور دشمنوں پر فائق ہونے میں سب سے عظیم ہیں، آپ نے فرمایا: جو کہتے ہو کہو، یا اس میں سے کچھ کہو، ( البتہ ) شیطان تمہیں میرے سلسلے میں جری نہ کر دے ( کہ تم ایسے کلمات کہہ بیٹھو جو میرے لیے زیبا نہ ہو ) ۔
