كتاب الأطعمة
Rapporté par Thabit ibn Wadi'ah رضي الله عنه : Nous étions dans une armée avec le Messager d’Allah ﷺ. Nous avons trouvé des lézards. J’en ai rôti un et je l’ai apporté au Messager d’Allah ﷺ et je l’ai posé devant lui. Il a pris un bâton et a compté ses doigts. Puis il a dit : « Un groupe des enfants d’Israël a été transformé en animal terrestre, et je ne sais pas lequel c’était. » Il n’en a pas mangé, mais il n’a pas non plus interdit d’en manger

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ وَدِيعَةَ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي جَيْشٍ فَأَصَبْنَا ضِبَابًا - قَالَ - فَشَوَيْتُ مِنْهَا ضَبًّا فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَوَضَعْتُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ - قَالَ - فَأَخَذَ عُودًا فَعَدَّ بِهِ أَصَابِعَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ " إِنَّ أُمَّةً مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مُسِخَتْ دَوَابَّ فِي الأَرْضِ وَإِنِّي لاَ أَدْرِي أَىُّ الدَّوَابِّ هِيَ " . قَالَ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ وَلَمْ يَنْهَ .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Thabit ibn Wadi'ah: We were in an army with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). We got some lizards. I roasted one lizard and brought it to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and placed it before him. He took a stick and counted its fingers. He then said: A group from the children of Isra'il was transformed into an animal of the land, and I do not know which animal it was. He did not eat it nor did he forbid (its eating)
Traduction en ourdou
ثابت بن ودیعہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں ہم لوگ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ایک لشکر میں تھے کہ ہم نے کئی گوہ پکڑے، میں نے ان میں سے ایک کو بھونا اور اسے لے کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور آپ کے سامنے رکھا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک لکڑی لی اور اس سے اس کی انگلیاں شمار کیں پھر فرمایا: بنی اسرائیل کا ایک گروہ مسخ کر کے زمین میں چوپایا بنا دیا گیا لیکن میں نہیں جانتا کہ وہ کون سا جانور ہے پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نہ تو کھایا اور نہ ہی اس سے منع کیا۔
