Rapporté par Omar ibn al-Khattab alors qu’il donnait un sermon : Omar a dit, alors qu’il était assis sur la chaire : « Ô gens, l’avis du Messager d’Allah ﷺ était juste, car Allah le lui montrait (c’est-à-dire l’inspirait) ; mais de notre part, ce n’est que supposition et ruse. »

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَهْرِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ الرَّأْىَ إِنَّمَا كَانَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُصِيبًا لأَنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ يُرِيهِ وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ مِنَّا الظَّنُّ وَالتَّكَلُّفُ .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Umar ibn al-Khattab: Umar said while he was (sitting) on the pulpit: O people, the opinion from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was right, because Allah showed (i.e. inspired) him; but from us it is sheer conjecture and artifice
Traduction en ourdou
ابن شہاب کہتے ہیں کہ عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے منبر پر فرمایا: لوگو! رائے تو صرف رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی درست تھی کیونکہ اللہ تعالیٰ آپ کو سجھاتا تھا، اور ہماری رائے محض ایک گمان اور تکلف ہے ۱؎ ۔
