La tradition mentionnée ci-dessus a aussi été rapportée par Ibn Abbas par une autre chaîne de transmetteurs. Dans cette version, il n’est pas fait mention du mot « serment ». Il est dit : « Il ne l’a pas informé. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَارِسٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ الْقَسَمَ، زَادَ فِيهِ وَلَمْ يُخْبِرْهُ .

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Ibn 'Abbas through a different chain of narrators. In this version there is no mention of the word qasam (oath). It has the words:"He did not inform him

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے یہی حدیث روایت کی ہے لیکن اس میں انہوں نے قسم کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے اور اس میں اتنا اضافہ ہے: آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں ( تعبیر کی غلطی ) نہیں بتائی ۱؎ ۔
