Rapporté par Ibn Omar رضي الله عنه : Nous prêtions serment d’allégeance au Prophète ﷺ pour écouter et obéir, et il précisait : « Dans la mesure de mes capacités. »

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ كُنَّا نُبَايِعُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ وَيُلَقِّنُنَا فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Ibn 'Umar:We used to take the oath of allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ) to hear and obey, and he would tell: In What I am able

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سننے اور اطاعت کرنے کی بیعت کرتے تھے اور ہمیں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تلقین کرتے تھے کہ ہم یہ بھی کہیں: جہاں تک ہمیں طاقت ہے ( یعنی ہم اپنی پوری طاقت بھر آپ کی سمع و طاعت کرتے رہیں گے ) ۔
