Hadith 589 — Livre 2: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)
كتاب الصلاة
Rapporté par Malik b. al-Huwairith : Le Prophète ﷺ lui a dit, ou à certains de ses compagnons : « Quand le moment de la prière arrive, faites l’adhan, puis l’iqama, puis que le plus âgé d’entre vous soit votre imam. » La version rapportée par Maslamah dit : « Ce jour-là, nous étions presque égaux en connaissance. » La version rapportée par Isma’il dit : Khalid a demandé à Abu Qilabah : « Et le Coran (pourquoi le Prophète ﷺ n’a-t-il pas dit : Que celui qui connaît le mieux le Coran soit imam) ? » Il a répondu : « Ils étaient tous deux égaux dans la connaissance du Coran. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، - الْمَعْنَى وَاحِدٌ - عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَهُ أَوْ لِصَاحِبٍ لَهُ " إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَأَذِّنَا ثُمَّ أَقِيمَا ثُمَّ لْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا " . وَفِي حَدِيثِ مَسْلَمَةَ قَالَ وَكُنَّا يَوْمَئِذٍ مُتَقَارِبَيْنِ فِي الْعِلْمِ . وَقَالَ فِي حَدِيثِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ خَالِدٌ قُلْتُ لأَبِي قِلاَبَةَ فَأَيْنَ الْقُرْآنُ قَالَ إِنَّهُمَا كَانَا مُتَقَارِبَيْنِ .
Traduction anglaise
Malik b. al-Huwairith said that the Prophet( may peace be upon him) told him or some of his companions:When the time of prayer comes, call the Adhan, then call the iqamah, then the one who is oldest of you should act as your imam. The version narrated by Maslamah goes : He said: On that day we were almost equal in knowledge. The version narrated by Isma’il says: Khalid said: I said to Abu Qilabah: where is the Qur’an(i.e. why did the Prophet(ﷺ) not say: The one who knows the Qur’an most should act as imam)? He replied: Both of them were equal in the knowledge of the Qur’an
Traduction en ourdou
مالک بن حویرث رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے یا ان کے ایک ساتھی سے فرمایا: جب نماز کا وقت ہو جائے تو تم اذان دو، پھر تکبیر کہو، پھر جو تم دونوں میں عمر میں بڑا ہو وہ امامت کرے ۔ مسلمہ کی روایت میں ہے: اور ہم دونوں علم میں قریب قریب تھے۔ اسماعیل کی روایت میں ہے: خالد کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ابوقلابہ سے پوچھا: پھر قرآن کہاں رہا؟ انہوں نے کہا: اس میں بھی وہ دونوں قریب قریب تھے۔
