Rapporté par Jarir ibn Abdullah رضي الله عنه : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a envoyé une expédition contre Khath‘am. Certaines personnes ont cherché protection en se prosternant, mais elles ont été tuées précipitamment. Quand le Prophète ﷺ l’a appris, il a ordonné de payer la moitié du prix du sang pour eux, en disant : « Je ne suis pas responsable de tout musulman qui reste parmi les polythéistes. » On a demandé : « Pourquoi, ô Messager d’Allah ? » Il a répondu : « Leurs feux ne doivent pas être visibles les uns des autres. » Abu Dawud a dit : Hushaim, Ma‘mar, Khalid b. al-Wasiti et d’autres ont aussi rapporté ce récit, mais sans mentionner Jarir

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَرِيَّةً إِلَى خَثْعَمٍ فَاعْتَصَمَ نَاسٌ مِنْهُمْ بِالسُّجُودِ فَأَسْرَعَ فِيهِمُ الْقَتْلُ - قَالَ - فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَمَرَ لَهُمْ بِنِصْفِ الْعَقْلِ وَقَالَ " أَنَا بَرِيءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ يُقِيمُ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ " . قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لِمَ قَالَ " لاَ تَرَاءَى نَارَاهُمَا " . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ رَوَاهُ هُشَيْمٌ وَمُعْتَمِرٌ وَخَالِدٌ الْوَاسِطِيُّ وَجَمَاعَةٌ لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا جَرِيرًا .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Jarir ibn Abdullah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent an expedition to Khath'am. Some people sought protection by having recourse to prostration, and were hastily killed. When the Prophet (ﷺ) heard that, he ordered half the blood-wit to be paid for them, saying: I am not responsible for any Muslim who stays among polytheists. They asked: Why, Messenger of Allah? He said: Their fires should not be visible to one another. Abu Dawud said: Hushaim, Ma'mar, Khalid b. al-Wasiti and a group of narrators have also narrated it, but did not mention Jarir

جریر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے قبیلہ خثعم کی جانب ایک سریہ بھیجا تو ان کے کچھ لوگوں نے سجدہ کر کے بچنا چاہا پھر بھی لوگوں نے انہیں قتل کرنے میں جلد بازی کی، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اس کی خبر پہنچی تو آپ نے ان کے لیے نصف دیت ۱؎ کا حکم دیا اور فرمایا: میں ہر اس مسلمان سے بری ہوں جو مشرکوں کے درمیان رہتا ہے ، لوگوں نے پوچھا: اللہ کے رسول! کیوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: دونوں کی ( یعنی اسلام اور کفر کی ) آگ ایک ساتھ نہیں رہ سکتی ۲؎۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسے ہشیم، معمر، خالد واسطی اور ایک جماعت نے روایت کیا ہے اور ان لوگوں نے جریر کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے ۳؎۔
