Anas رضي الله عنه a rapporté : Le Prophète ﷺ a fait ses ablutions avec un récipient contenant deux rotls d’eau et a pris un bain rituel avec un sa‘ d’eau. Abu Dawud a dit : Ce hadith a été rapporté de la part d’Anas par une autre chaîne. Cette version mentionne : « Il a fait ses ablutions avec un makkuk. » Elle ne mentionne pas les deux rotls. Abu Dawud a aussi dit : Ce hadith a été rapporté par Yahya ibn Adam d’après Sharik. Mais cette chaîne mentionne Ibn Jabr ibn ‘Atik au lieu de ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabr. Abu Dawud a dit : Ce hadith a aussi été rapporté par Sufyan d’après ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Isa. Cette chaîne mentionne le nom de Jabr ibn ‘Abd Allah au lieu de ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabr. Abu Dawud a dit : J’ai entendu Ahmad ibn Hanbal dire : un sa‘ équivaut à cinq rotls. C’était le sa‘ d’Ibn Abi Dhi‘b et aussi celui du Prophète ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّازُ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتَوَضَّأُ بِإِنَاءٍ يَسَعُ رَطْلَيْنِ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ رَوَاهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ قَالَ عَنِ ابْنِ جَبْرِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ . قَالَ وَرَوَاهُ سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنِي جَبْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَرَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَكُّوكٍ . وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ رَطْلَيْنِ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَسَمِعْتُ أَحْمَدَ بْنَ حَنْبَلٍ يَقُولُ الصَّاعُ خَمْسَةُ أَرْطَالٍ وَهُوَ صَاعُ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ وَهُوَ صَاعُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم .
Traduction anglaise
Anas reported :The Prophet (ﷺ) performed ablution with a vessel which contained two rotls (of water) and took a bath with a sa’ (of water).1 Abu Dawud Said : This tradition has berated on the authority of Anas through a different chain. This version mentions: “He performed ablution with one makkuk. “It makes no mention of two rotls. 2 Abu Dawud said : This tradition has also been narrated by Yahya b. Adam from Sharik. But this chain mentions Ibn Jabr b. ‘Atik instead of ‘ Abd Allah b. Jabr. Abu Dawud Said : This tradition has also been narrated by Sufyan from ‘Abd Allah b. ‘Isa. This chain mentions the name Jabr b. ‘Abd Allah instead of ‘Abd Allah b. Jabr. Abu Dawud Said : I heard Ahmad b. Hanbal say : one sa’ measures five rotls. It was the sa’ of Ibn Abi Dhi’b and also of the Prophet (ﷺ)

انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایسے برتن سے وضو کرتے تھے جس میں دو رطل پانی آتا تھا، اور ایک صاع پانی سے غسل کرتے تھے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یحییٰ بن آدم نے اسے شریک سے روایت کیا ہے مگر اس روایت میں ( عبداللہ بن جبر کے بجائے ) ابن جبر بن عتیک ہے، نیز سفیان نے بھی اسے عبداللہ بن عیسیٰ سے روایت کیا ہے اس میں «حدثني جبر بن عبد الله.» ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اور اسے شعبہ نے بھی روایت کیا ہے، اس میں «حدثني عبد الله بن عبد الله بن جبر سمعت أنسا» ہے، مگر فرق یہ ہے کہ انہوں نے «يتوضأ بإناء يسع رطلين» کے بجائے: «يتوضأ بمكوك» کہا ہے اور «رطلين» کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: میں نے احمد بن حنبل کو کہتے سنا ہے کہ ایک صاع پانچ رطل کا ہوتا ہے، یہی ابن ابی ذئب کا صاع تھا اور یہی نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا بھی صاع تھا۔
