Rapporté par Laqit ibn Sabirah : J’étais le chef de la délégation de Banu al-Muntafiq, ou (le narrateur hésite) j’étais parmi la délégation de Banu al-Muntafiq qui est venue voir le Messager d’Allah ﷺ. Quand nous sommes arrivés, il n’était pas chez lui. Nous avons trouvé Aisha, la mère des croyants رضي الله عنها. Elle a demandé qu’on nous prépare un plat appelé Khazirah. On nous l’a servi, puis un plateau de dattes a été présenté. (Le narrateur Qutaybah n’a pas mentionné le mot plateau). Ensuite, le Messager d’Allah ﷺ est arrivé. Il a demandé : « Vous a-t-on servi quelque chose ou préparé quelque chose ? » Nous avons répondu : « Oui, Messager d’Allah. » Pendant que nous étions assis avec lui, un berger est arrivé avec un troupeau de moutons. Il avait un agneau nouveau-né qui bêlait. Le Prophète ﷺ lui a demandé : « Qu’a mis bas la brebis, untel ? » Il a répondu : « Une brebis. » Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : « Abats une brebis à sa place pour nous. Ne croyez pas que nous l’abattons pour vous. Nous avons cent brebis et nous ne voulons pas que leur nombre augmente. Chaque fois qu’une brebis met bas, nous en abattons une autre à sa place. » (Le narrateur précise que le Prophète ﷺ a utilisé l’expression « la tahsabanna », ne croyez pas). J’ai alors dit : « Messager d’Allah, j’ai une femme qui a la langue bien pendue, c’est-à-dire qu’elle est insolente. » Il a dit : « Alors, divorce-la. » J’ai dit : « Messager d’Allah, elle a vécu avec moi et j’ai des enfants avec elle. » Il a dit : « Alors demande-lui d’obéir. S’il y a du bien en elle, elle le fera ; et ne frappe pas ta femme comme tu frappes une servante. » J’ai dit : « Messager d’Allah, parle-moi des ablutions. » Il a dit : « Fais bien tes ablutions, passe les doigts dans ta barbe et aspire bien l’eau dans le nez, sauf si tu jeûnes. »

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، - فِي آخَرِينَ - قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ لَقِيطِ بْنِ صَبْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، لَقِيطِ بْنِ صَبْرَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ وَافِدَ بَنِي الْمُنْتَفِقِ - أَوْ فِي وَفْدِ بَنِي الْمُنْتَفِقِ - إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمْ نُصَادِفْهُ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ وَصَادَفْنَا عَائِشَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ فَأَمَرَتْ لَنَا بِخَزِيرَةٍ فَصُنِعَتْ لَنَا قَالَ وَأُتِينَا بِقِنَاعٍ - وَلَمْ يَقُلْ قُتَيْبَةُ الْقِنَاعَ وَالْقِنَاعُ الطَّبَقُ فِيهِ تَمْرٌ - ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " هَلْ أَصَبْتُمْ شَيْئًا أَوْ أُمِرَ لَكُمْ بِشَىْءٍ " . قَالَ قُلْنَا نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ فَبَيْنَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم جُلُوسٌ إِذْ دَفَعَ الرَّاعِي غَنَمَهُ إِلَى الْمُرَاحِ وَمَعَهُ سَخْلَةٌ تَيْعَرُ فَقَالَ " مَا وَلَّدْتَ يَا فُلاَنُ " . قَالَ بَهْمَةً . قَالَ فَاذْبَحْ لَنَا مَكَانَهَا شَاةً . ثُمَّ قَالَ لاَ تَحْسِبَنَّ - وَلَمْ يَقُلْ لاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ - أَنَّا مِنْ أَجْلِكَ ذَبَحْنَاهَا لَنَا غَنَمٌ مِائَةٌ لاَ نُرِيدُ أَنْ تَزِيدَ فَإِذَا وَلَّدَ الرَّاعِي بَهْمَةً ذَبَحْنَا مَكَانَهَا شَاةً . قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لِي امْرَأَةً وَإِنَّ فِي لِسَانِهَا شَيْئًا يَعْنِي الْبَذَاءَ . قَالَ " فَطَلِّقْهَا إِذًا " . قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لَهَا صُحْبَةً وَلِي مِنْهَا وَلَدٌ . قَالَ " فَمُرْهَا - يَقُولُ عِظْهَا - فَإِنْ يَكُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ فَسَتَفْعَلُ وَلاَ تَضْرِبْ ظَعِينَتَكَ كَضَرْبِكَ أُمَيَّتَكَ " . فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ . قَالَ " أَسْبِغِ الْوُضُوءَ وَخَلِّلْ بَيْنَ الأَصَابِعِ وَبَالِغْ فِي الاِسْتِنْشَاقِ إِلاَّ أَنْ تَكُونَ صَائِمًا " .

Narrated Laqit ibn Sabirah: I was the leader of the delegation of Banu al-Muntafiq or (the narrator doubted) I was among the delegation of Banu al-Muntafiq that came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). When we reached the Prophet, we did not find him in his house. We found there Aisha, the Mother of the Believers. She ordered that a dish called Khazirah should be prepared for us. It was then prepared. A tray containing dates was then presented to us. (The narrator Qutaybah did not mention the word qina', tray). Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came. He asked: Has anything been served to you or ordered for you? We replied: Yes, Messenger of Allah. While we were sitting in the company of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) we suddenly saw that a shepherd was driving a herd of sheep to their fold. He had with him a newly-born lamb that was crying. He (the Prophet) asked him: What did it bear, O so and so? He replied: A ewe. He then said: Slaughter for us in its place a sheep. Do not think that we are slaughtering it for you. We have one hundred sheep and we do not want their number to increase. Whenever a ewe is born, we slaughter a sheep in its place. (The narrator says that the Prophet (ﷺ) used the word la tahsabanna, do not think). I (the narrator Laqit) then said: Messenger of Allah, I have a wife who has something (wrong) in her tongue, i.e. she is insolent. He said: Then divorce her. I said: Messenger of Allah, she had company with me and I have children from her. He said: Then ask her (to obey you). If there is something good in her, she will do so (obey); and do not beat your wife as you beat your slave-girl. I said: Messenger of Allah, tell me about ablution. He said: Perform ablution in full and make the fingers go through the beard and snuff with water well except when you are fasting

لقیط بن صبرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں بنی منتفق کے وفد کا سردار بن کر یا بنی منتفق کے وفد میں شریک ہو کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں آیا، جب ہم آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے تو آپ گھر میں نہیں ملے، ہمیں صرف ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا ملیں، انہوں نے ہمارے لیے خزیرہ ۱؎ تیار کرنے کا حکم کیا، وہ تیار کیا گیا، ہمارے سامنے تھالی لائی گئی۔ ( قتیبہ نے اپنی روایت میں «قناع» کا لفظ نہیں کہا ہے، «قناع» کھجور کی لکڑی کی اس تھالی و طبق کو کہتے ہیں جس میں کھجور رکھی جاتی ہے ) ۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لائے اور پوچھا: تم لوگوں نے کچھ کھایا؟ یا تمہارے کھانے کے لیے کوئی حکم دیا گیا؟ ، ہم نے جواب دیا: ہاں، اے اللہ کے رسول! ہم لوگ آپ کے ساتھ بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ یکایک چرواہا اپنی بکریاں باڑے کی طرف لے کر چلا، اس کے ساتھ ایک بکری کا بچہ تھا جو ممیا رہا تھا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( اس سے ) پوچھا: اے فلاں! کیا پیدا ہوا ( نر یا مادہ ) ؟ ، اس نے جواب دیا: مادہ، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تو اس کے جگہ پر ہمارے لیے ایک بکری ذبح کرو ۔ پھر ( لقیط سے ) فرمایا: یہ نہ سمجھنا کہ ہم نے اسے تمہارے لیے ذبح کیا ہے، بلکہ ( بات یہ ہے کہ ) ہمارے پاس سو بکریاں ہیں جسے ہم بڑھانا نہیں چاہتے، اس لیے جب کوئی بچہ پیدا ہوتا ہے تو ہم اس کی جگہ ایک بکری ذبح کر ڈالتے ہیں۔ لقیط کہتے ہیں: میں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! میری ایک بیوی ہے جو زبان دراز ہے ( میں کیا کروں ) ؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تب تو تم اسے طلاق دے دو ۔ میں نے کہا: اے اللہ کے رسول! ایک مدت تک میرا اس کا ساتھ رہا، اس سے میری اولاد بھی ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تو اسے تم نصیحت کرو، اگر اس میں بھلائی ہے تو تمہاری اطاعت کرے گی، اور تم اپنی عورت کو اس طرح نہ مارو جس طرح اپنی لونڈی کو مارتے ہو ۔ پھر میں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! مجھے وضو کے بارے میں بتائیے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: وضو مکمل کیا کرو، انگلیوں میں خلال کرو، اور ناک میں پانی اچھی طرح پہنچاؤ الا یہ کہ تم صائم ہو ۱؎۔
