Rapporté par Sa’eed bin Al-Musayyab : 'Umar est passé devant Hassan bin Thabit qui récitait de la poésie dans la mosquée, et il l’a regardé sévèrement. Hassan a dit : "Je récitais de la poésie alors qu’il y avait quelqu’un de meilleur que toi dans la mosquée." Puis il s’est tourné vers Abu Hurairah et a dit : "N’as-tu pas entendu le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) quand il a dit : 'Réponds pour moi. Ô Allah, aide-le par l’Esprit Saint !'" أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، قَالَ مَرَّ عُمَرُ بِحَسَّانَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ وَهُوَ يُنْشِدُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَلَحَظَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ قَدْ أَنْشَدْتُ وَفِيهِ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ أَسَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " أَجِبْ عَنِّي اللَّهُمَّ أَيِّدْهُ بِرُوحِ الْقُدُسِ " . قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Al-Musayyab said:"Umar passed by Hassan bin Thabit while he was reciting poetry in the Masjid, and glared at him. He said: 'I recited poetry when there was someone better than you in the Masjid.' Then he turned to Abu Hurairah and said: 'Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he said: "Answer back on my behalf. O Allah, help him with the Holy Spirit!'" He said: 'Yes, by Allah
Traduction en ourdou
سعید بن مسیب کہتے ہیں کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ حسان بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس سے گزرے، وہ مسجد میں اشعار پڑھ رہے تھے، تو عمران رضی اللہ عنہ کی طرف گھورنے لگے، تو انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ( مسجد میں ) شعر پڑھا ہے، اور اس میں ایسی ہستی موجود ہوتی تھی جو آپ سے بہتر تھی، پھر وہ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے، اور پوچھا: کیا آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ( مجھ سے ) یہ کہتے نہیں سنا کہ تم میری طرف سے ( کافروں کو ) جواب دو، اے اللہ! روح القدس کے ذریعہ ان کی تائید فرما! ، تو ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا! ہاں ( سنا ہے ) ۔
