كتاب الأذان
Rapporté par 'Uthman bin Abi Al-As : J’ai dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), fais de moi l’imam de mon peuple. » Il a dit : « Tu es leur imam, alors prends en compte le plus faible parmi eux et choisis un muezzin qui n’accepte pas de paiement pour son Adhan. »

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلاَءِ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اجْعَلْنِي إِمَامَ قَوْمِي . فَقَالَ " أَنْتَ إِمَامُهُمْ وَاقْتَدِ بِأَضْعَفِهِمْ وَاتَّخِذْ مُؤَذِّنًا لاَ يَأْخُذُ عَلَى أَذَانِهِ أَجْرًا " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that 'Uthman bin Abi Al-As said:"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah (S.A.W), make me the Imam of my people.' He said: 'You are their Imam, so consider the weakest among them and choose a Mu'adhdhin who does not accept any payment for his Adhan

عثمان بن ابی العاص رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! مجھے میرے قبیلے کا امام بنا دیجئیے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم ان کے امام ہو ( لیکن ) ان کے کمزور لوگوں کی اقتداء کرنا ۱؎ اور ایسے شخص کو مؤذن رکھنا جو اپنی اذان پر اجرت نہ لے ۔
