Hadith 527 — Livre 6: The Book of the Times (of Prayer)

Rapporté par Muhammad bin 'Amr bin Hasan : Al-Hajjaj est arrivé et nous avons interrogé Jabir bin 'Abdullah, qui a dit : « Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) priait le Zuhr au moment de la grande chaleur, et l’Asr quand le soleil était encore blanc et lumineux, le Maghrib au coucher du soleil, et pour l’Isha, cela dépendait : s’il voyait que les gens étaient rassemblés, il priait tôt, et s’il voyait qu’ils n’étaient pas encore venus, il la retardait. »

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَسَنٍ، قَالَ قَدِمَ الْحَجَّاجُ فَسَأَلْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ وَالْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ بَيْضَاءُ نَقِيَّةٌ وَالْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا وَجَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَالْعِشَاءَ أَحْيَانًا كَانَ إِذَا رَآهُمْ قَدِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَجَّلَ وَإِذَا رَآهُمْ قَدْ أَبْطَئُوا أَخَّرَ .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Muhammad bin 'Amr bin Hasan said:"Al-Hajjaj arrived, and we asked Jabir bin 'Abdullah, who said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed Zuhr at the time of intense heat, [1] and 'Asr when the sun was white and clear, and Maghrib when the sun set, and with 'Isha' it would depend - if he saw that the people had gathered, he would pray early, and if he saw that they had not come yet, he would delay it.'" [1] Meaning, at the earliest time

محمد بن عمرو بن حسن کہتے ہیں کہ حجاج آئے تو ہم نے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہم سے پوچھا تو انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ظہر دوپہر میں ( سورج ڈھلتے ہی ) پڑھتے تھے، اور عصر اس وقت پڑھتے جب سورج سفید اور صاف ہوتا، اور مغرب اس وقت پڑھتے جب سورج ڈوب جاتا، اور عشاء جب آپ دیکھتے کہ لوگ جمع ہو گئے ہیں تو جلدی پڑھ لیتے، اور جب دیکھتے کہ لوگ دیر کر رہے ہیں تو مؤخر کرتے۔
