Rapporté par Zainab bint Umm Salamah : Umm Habibah a dit : "J’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah dire : Il n’est pas permis à une femme qui croit en Allah et au Jour dernier de porter le deuil pour quelqu’un qui meurt plus de trois jours, sauf pour son mari ; (elle porte le deuil pour lui) pendant quatre mois et dix jours

أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، عَنْ وَكِيعٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ تَحِدُّ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ إِلاَّ عَلَى زَوْجٍ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Zainab bint Umm Salamah said:"Umm Habibah said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah say: It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for anyone who dies for more than three days, except for a husband; (she mourns for him for) four months and ten (days)

ام المؤمنین ام حبیبہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: ”اللہ اور یوم آخرت پر ایمان رکھنے والی کسی بھی عورت کے لیے حلال نہیں ہے کہ شوہر کے سوا کسی بھی میت پر تین دن سے زیادہ سوگ منائے، وہ شوہر کے انتقال پر چار مہینہ دس دن سوگ منائے گی“۔
