Hadith 3140 — Livre 25: The Book of Jihad
كتاب الجهاد
Rapporté par Abu ‘Umamah Al-Bahili : Un homme est venu voir le Prophète (ﷺ) et a dit : « Que penses-tu d’un homme qui combat en cherchant à la fois la récompense et la renommée – qu’aura-t-il ? » Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Il n’aura rien. » Il a répété la question trois fois, et le Prophète (ﷺ) lui a dit : « Il n’aura rien. » Puis il a dit : « Allah n’accepte aucune action, sauf si elle est faite uniquement pour Lui et pour rechercher Sa Face. »

أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ هِلاَلٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِمْيَرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلاَّمٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ، عَنْ شَدَّادٍ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ، قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلاً غَزَا يَلْتَمِسُ الأَجْرَ وَالذِّكْرَ مَا لَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ شَىْءَ لَهُ " . فَأَعَادَهَا ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ يَقُولُ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ شَىْءَ لَهُ " . ثُمَّ قَالَ " إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَقْبَلُ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ إِلاَّ مَا كَانَ لَهُ خَالِصًا وَابْتُغِيَ بِهِ وَجْهُهُ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Abu 'Umamah Al-Bahili said:"A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'What do you think of a man who fights seeking reward and fame - what will he have?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'He will not have anything.' He repeated it three times, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: 'He will not have anything.' Then he said: 'Allah does not accept any deed, except that which is purely for Him, and seeking His Face
Traduction en ourdou
ابوامامہ باہلی رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا، اور عرض کیا: آپ ایک ایسے شخص کے بارے میں کیا فرماتے ہیں جو جہاد کرتا ہے، اور جہاد کی اجرت و مزدوری چاہتا ہے، اور شہرت و ناموری کا خواہشمند ہے، اسے کیا ملے گا؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اس کے لیے کچھ نہیں ہے“ ۱؎۔ اس نے اپنی بات تین مرتبہ دہرائی۔ اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس سے یہی فرماتے رہے کہ اس کے لیے کچھ نہیں ہے۔ پھر آپ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ صرف وہی عمل قبول کرتا ہے جو خالص اسی کے لیے ہو، اور اس سے اللہ کی رضا مقصود و مطلوب ہو“۔
