Hadith 2434 — Livre 22: The Book of Fasting
كتاب الصيام
Rapporté par Abou Nawfal ibn Abi ‘Aqrab, de la part de son père : Il a interrogé le Prophète au sujet du jeûne et il a dit : "Jeûne un jour chaque mois." Il lui a demandé plus, en disant : "Que mon père et ma mère soient sacrifiés pour toi, j’en suis capable." Il a dit : "Jeûne deux jours chaque mois." Il a dit : "Que mon père et ma mère soient sacrifiés pour toi, ô Messager d’Allah, j’en suis capable." Le Messager d’Allah a dit : "J’en suis capable, j’en suis capable." Il ne voulait pas augmenter, mais quand j’ai insisté, le Messager d’Allah a dit : "Jeûne trois jours chaque mois." (Sahih) C’est la fin de ce que le Cheikh avait sur le jeûne. أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلاَّمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الأَسْوَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي نَوْفَلِ بْنِ أَبِي عَقْرَبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الصَّوْمِ فَقَالَ " صُمْ يَوْمًا مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ " . وَاسْتَزَادَهُ قَالَ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي أَجِدُنِي قَوِيًّا فَزَادَهُ قَالَ " صُمْ يَوْمَيْنِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ " . فَقَالَ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَجِدُنِي قَوِيًّا . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنِّي أَجِدُنِي قَوِيًّا إِنِّي أَجِدُنِي قَوِيًّا " . فَمَا كَادَ أَنْ يَزِيدَهُ فَلَمَّا أَلَحَّ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " صُمْ ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Abu Nawfal bin Abi 'Aqrab, from his father, that he asked the Prophet about fasting and he said:"Fast one day of each month." He asked him for more, saying: "May my father and mother be ransomed for you, I am able." He said: "Fast two days of each month." He said" May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah, I am able." The Messenger of Allah said: "I am able, I am able." He did not want to increase it, but when I insisted, the Messenger of Allah said: "Fast three days of each month." (Sahih) The end of what the Shaikh had about fasting, all praise is due to Allah the Lord of the worlds

ابوعقرب رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روزے کے بارے پوچھا، تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”مہینہ میں ایک دن رکھ لیا کرو“، انہوں نے مزید کی درخواست کی اور کہا: میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان ہوں، میں اپنے آپ کو طاقتور پاتا ہوں، تو آپ نے اس میں اضافہ فرما دیا، فرمایا: ”ہر مہینہ دو دن رکھ لیا کرو“، تو انہوں نے کہا: میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان ہوں میں اپنے آپ کو طاقتور پاتا ہوں، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( میری بات ) ”میں اپنے کو طاقتور پاتا ہوں، میں اپنے کو طاقتور پاتا ہوں“ دہرائی، آپ اضافہ کرنے والے نہ تھے، مگر جب انہوں نے اصرار کیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”ہر مہینہ تین دن رکھ لیا کرو“۔
