كتاب الصيام
Rapporté par 'Abdur-Rahman bin Zaid bin Al-Khattab : Il a parlé aux gens le jour où il y avait un doute sur le début du mois et a dit : « J’ai été avec les Compagnons du Messager d’Allah ﷺ et je leur ai demandé, et ils ont rapporté que le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : “Jeûnez quand vous le voyez et arrêtez de jeûner quand vous le voyez, et accomplissez les rites en conséquence. Si c’est caché, alors complétez trente jours, et si deux témoins attestent, alors jeûnez et arrêtez de jeûner.” »

أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ، - وَكَانَ شَيْخًا صَالِحًا بِطَرَسُوسَ - قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الْجَدَلِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، أَنَّهُ خَطَبَ النَّاسَ فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي يُشَكُّ فِيهِ فَقَالَ أَلاَّ إِنِّي جَالَسْتُ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَسَاءَلْتُهُمْ وَأَنَّهُمْ حَدَّثُونِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " صُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَأَفْطِرُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَانْسُكُوا لَهَا فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَكْمِلُوا ثَلاَثِينَ فَإِنْ شَهِدَ شَاهِدَانِ فَصُومُوا وَأَفْطِرُوا " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that:'Abdur-Rahman bin Zaid bin Al-Khattab addressed the people on the day concerning which there was doubt (as to whether the month had begun) and said: "I sat with the Companions of the Messenger of Allah and asked them, and they a narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: 'Fast when you see it and stop fasting when you see it, and perform the rites on that basis. If it is obscured, then complete thirty days, and if two witnesses testify then fast and stop fasting
Traduction en ourdou
عبدالرحمٰن بن زید بن خطاب سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے ایک ایسے دن میں جس میں شک تھا ( کہ رمضان کی پہلی تاریخ ہے یا شعبان کی آخری ) لوگوں سے خطاب کیا تو کہا: سنو! میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے صحابہ کی ہم نشینی کی، اور میں ان کے ساتھ بیٹھا تو میں نے ان سے سوالات کئے، اور انہوں نے مجھ سے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تم چاند دیکھ کر روزہ رکھو، اور چاند دیکھ کر افطار کرو، اور اسی طرح حج بھی کرو، اور اگر تم پر مطلع ابر آلود ہو تو تیس ( کی گنتی ) پوری کرو، ( اور ) اگر دو گواہ ( چاند دیکھنے کی ) شہادت دے دیں تو روزے رکھو، اور افطار ( یعنی عید ) کرو“۔
