Hadith 2088 — Livre 21: The Book of Funerals
كتاب الجنائز
Rapporté par Mu‘awiyah bin Qurrah, d’après son père : Quand le Prophète d’Allah ﷺ s’asseyait, certains de ses Compagnons s’asseyaient avec lui. Parmi eux, il y avait un homme qui avait un petit garçon qui venait vers lui par derrière et il le faisait asseoir devant lui. L’enfant mourut, et l’homme cessa de venir à l’assemblée car cela lui rappelait son fils et le rendait triste. Le Prophète remarqua son absence et dit : « Pourquoi ne vois-je pas untel ? » On lui répondit : « Ô Messager d’Allah, son fils que tu voyais est décédé. » Le Prophète le rencontra, lui demanda des nouvelles de son fils et il lui raconta qu’il était mort. Le Prophète lui présenta ses condoléances et dit : « Ô untel, qu’aimerais-tu le plus : profiter de sa compagnie toute ta vie, ou arriver à l’une des portes du Paradis le Jour de la Résurrection et le voir t’y attendre pour t’ouvrir la porte ? » Il répondit : « Ô Prophète d’Allah ! Qu’il arrive avant moi à la porte du Paradis et m’ouvre la porte, c’est ce que je préfère. » Le Prophète dit : « Tu auras cela. »

أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي الزَّرْقَاءِ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ كَانَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا جَلَسَ يَجْلِسُ إِلَيْهِ نَفَرٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ وَفِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ لَهُ ابْنٌ صَغِيرٌ يَأْتِيهِ مِنْ خَلْفِ ظَهْرِهِ فَيُقْعِدُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَهَلَكَ فَامْتَنَعَ الرَّجُلُ أَنْ يَحْضُرَ الْحَلْقَةَ لِذِكْرِ ابْنِهِ فَحَزِنَ عَلَيْهِ فَفَقَدَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " مَا لِي لاَ أَرَى فُلاَنًا " . قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ بُنَيَّهُ الَّذِي رَأَيْتَهُ هَلَكَ . فَلَقِيَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ بُنَيِّهِ فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ هَلَكَ فَعَزَّاهُ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ " يَا فُلاَنُ أَيُّمَا كَانَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ أَنْ تَمَتَّعَ بِهِ عُمْرَكَ أَوْ لاَ تَأْتِي غَدًا إِلَى بَابٍ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ إِلاَّ وَجَدْتَهُ قَدْ سَبَقَكَ إِلَيْهِ يَفْتَحُهُ لَكَ " . قَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ بَلْ يَسْبِقُنِي إِلَى بَابِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَفْتَحُهَا لِي لَهُوَ أَحَبُّ إِلَىَّ . قَالَ " فَذَاكَ لَكَ " .
Traduction anglaise
Mu 'awiyah bin Qurrah narrated that his father said:"When the Prophet of Allah sat, some of his Companions would sit with him. Among them was a man who had a little son who used to come to him from behind, and he would make him sit in front of him. He (the child) died, and the man stopped attending the circle because it reminded him of his son, and made him feel sad. The Prophet missed him and said: 'Why do I not see so-and-so?' They said: O Messenger of Allah, his son whom you saw has died.' The Prophet met him and asked him about his son, and he told him that he had died. He offered his condolences and said: 'O son-and-so, which would you like better, to enjoy his company all you life, or to come to any of the gates of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection, and find that he arrived there before you, and he is opening the gate for you?' he said: 'O Prophet of Allah! For him to get to the gate of Paradise before me and open it for me is dearer to me.' He said: 'You will have that

قرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں: نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب بیٹھتے تو آپ کے صحابہ کی ایک جماعت بھی آپ کے پاس بیٹھتی، ان میں ایک ایسے آدمی بھی ہوتے جن کا ایک چھوٹا بچہ ان کی پیٹھ کے پیچھے سے آتا، تو وہ اسے اپنے سامنے ( گود میں ) بٹھا لیتے ( چنانچہ کچھ دنوں بعد ) وہ بچہ مر گیا، تو اس آدمی نے اپنے بچے کی یاد میں محفل میں آنا بند کر دیا، اور رنجیدہ رہنے لگا، تو ( جب ) نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے نہیں پایا تو پوچھا: ”کیا بات ہے؟ میں فلاں کو نہیں دیکھ رہا ہوں؟“ لوگوں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! اس کا ننھا بچہ جسے آپ نے دیکھا تھا مر گیا، چنانچہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے ملاقات کی، ( اور ) اس کے بچے کے بارے میں پوچھا، تو اس نے بتایا کہ وہ مر گیا، تو آپ نے اس کی ( موت کی خبر ) پر اس کی تعزیت کی، پھر فرمایا: ”اے فلاں! تجھ کو کون سی بات زیادہ پسند ہے؟ یہ کہ تم اس سے عمر بھر فائدہ اٹھاتے یا یہ کہ ( جب ) تم قیامت کے دن جنت کے کسی دروازے پر جاؤ تو اسے اپنے سے پہلے پہنچا ہوا پائے، وہ تمہارے لیے اسے کھول رہا ہو؟“ تو اس نے کہا: اللہ کے نبی! مجھے یہ بات زیادہ پسند ہے کہ وہ جنت کے دروازے پر مجھ سے پہلے پہنچے، اور میرے لیے دروازہ کھول رہا ہو، آپ نے فرمایا: ”تمہارے لیے ایسا ( ہی ) ہو گا“۔
