Rapporté par Ibn Umar : « J’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) sur le minbar, lorsqu’on l’a interrogé sur les prières de la nuit, dire : “Deux par deux, puis si tu crains que l’aube arrive, fais le witr avec une rak‘a.” »

Texte arabe original
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يُسْأَلُ عَنْ صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ " مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِرَكْعَةٍ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Ibn Umar said:"I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on the minbar, when he was asked about prayers at night, say: "Two by two, then if you fear that dawn will come, pray witr with one rak'ah

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو میں نے منبر پر فرماتے سنا: آپ سے رات کی صلاۃ کے بارے میں پوچھا جا رہا تھا تو آپ نے فرمایا: وہ دو دو رکعت ہے، لیکن جب تمہیں صبح ہو جانے کا خطرہ لاحق ہو تو ایک رکعت سے وتر کر لو ۔
