Rapporté par Jabir bin Samurah : Nous priions derrière le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) et nous saluions les autres avec la main. Il a dit : "Pourquoi certains saluent-ils avec la main comme si c’était des queues de chevaux sauvages ? Il suffit que chacun pose sa main sur sa cuisse et dise : 'As-salamu 'alaikum, as-salamu 'alaikum

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ الْقِبْطِيَّةِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ كُنَّا نُصَلِّي خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَنُسَلِّمُ بِأَيْدِينَا فَقَالَ " مَا بَالُ هَؤُلاَءِ يُسَلِّمُونَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمْسٍ أَمَا يَكْفِي أَحَدَهُمْ أَنْ يَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said:"We used to pray behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and we would greet (others) with our hands. He said: 'What is the matter with those who greet (others) with their hands as if they were tails of wild horses? It is sufficient for any one of you to put his hand on his thigh and say: "As-salamu 'alaikum, as-salamu 'alaikum
Traduction en ourdou
جابر بن سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم لوگ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پیچھے نماز پڑھتے، اور اپنے ہاتھ اٹھا کر سلام کرتے تھے، اس پر آپ نے فرمایا: ان لوگوں کو کیا ہو گیا ہے کہ یہ اپنے ہاتھ اٹھا اٹھا کر سلام کرتے ہیں گویا کہ یہ شریر گھوڑوں کی دم ہیں، کیا ان کے لیے یہ کافی نہیں کہ وہ اپنے ہاتھ اپنی ران پر رکھیں پھر«السلام عليكم، السلام عليكم» کہیں ۔
