كتاب افتتاح الصلاة
Rapporté par Abu Hurairah : Quand le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) commençait à prier, il faisait une courte pause. J’ai dit : « Que mon père et ma mère soient sacrifiés pour toi, ô Messager d’Allah, que dis-tu pendant cette courte pause entre le takbir et la récitation ? » Il a dit : « Je dis : Allahumma ba‘id bayni wa bayna khatayaya kama ba‘adta bayna al-mashriqi wal-maghrib ; Allahumma naqqini min khatayaya kama yunaqqa ath-thawb al-abyad min ad-danas ; Allahumma ighsilni min khatayaya bil ma’i wa ath-thalji wal-barad. (Ô Allah, éloigne-moi de mes péchés comme Tu as éloigné l’Orient de l’Occident ; Ô Allah, purifie-moi de mes péchés comme un vêtement blanc est purifié de la saleté ; Ô Allah, lave-moi de mes péchés avec de l’eau, de la neige et de la grêle.) »

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلاَةَ سَكَتَ هُنَيْهَةً فَقُلْتُ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا تَقُولُ فِي سُكُوتِكَ بَيْنَ التَّكْبِيرِ وَالْقِرَاءَةِ قَالَ " أَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ بَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطَايَاىَ كَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ اللَّهُمَّ نَقِّنِي مِنْ خَطَايَاىَ كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ اللَّهُمَّ اغْسِلْنِي مِنْ خَطَايَاىَ بِالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:"When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) started to pray he would pause briefly. I said: 'May my father and mother be ransomed for you, O Messenger of Allah, what do you say when you pause briefly between the takbir and reciation?' He said: 'I say: Allahuma ba'id bayni wa bayna khatayaya kama ba'adta bayna al-mashriqi wal-maghrib; Allahumma naqqini min khatayaya kama yunaqqa ath-thawb al-abyad min ad-danas; Allahumma ighsilni min khatayaya bil ma'i wa ath-thalji wal-barad. (O Allah, put a great distance between me and my sins, as great as the distance You have made between the East and the West; O Allah, cleanse me of my sins as a white garment is cleansed from filth; O Allah, wash away my sins with water and snow and hail)

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب نماز شروع کرتے تو تھوڑی دیر چپ رہتے، تو میں نے آپ سے پوچھا: اللہ کے رسول! میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان ہوں، آپ تکبیر تحریمہ اور قرأت کے درمیان اپنی خاموشی میں کیا پڑھتے ہیں؟ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں کہتا ہوں: «اللہم باعد بيني وبين خطاياى كما باعدت بين المشرق والمغرب اللہم نقني من خطاياى كما ينقى الثوب الأبيض من الدنس اللہم اغسلني من خطاياى بالماء والثلج والبرد» اے اللہ! تو میرے اور میرے گناہوں کے درمیان اتنی دوری کر دے جتنی تو نے مشرق و مغرب کے درمیان کر رکھی ہے، اے اللہ! تو مجھے میرے گناہوں سے پاک صاف کر دے جس طرح میل کچیل سے سفید کپڑا صاف کیا جاتا ہے، اے اللہ! تو میرے گناہوں کو پانی، برف اور اولے سے دھو دے ۔
