Mouhammad Ibn Zaid Ibn Quonfoz a rapporté que sa mère a demandé à Oum Salama la femme de Prophète (salallahou alayhi wa salam) (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) «Que doit mettre une femme pour prier»? Elle lui répondit: «elle doit mettre le voile, porter la longue robe qui cache les parties postérieures de ses pieds»

Texte arabe original
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ قُنْفُذٍ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَاذَا تُصَلِّي فِيهِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ فَقَالَتْ تُصَلِّي فِي الْخِمَارِ وَالدِّرْعِ السَّابِغِ إِذَا غَيَّبَ ظُهُورَ قَدَمَيْهَا .
Traduction anglaise
Yahya related to me from Malik from Muhammad ibn Zayd ibn Qunfudh that his mother asked Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "What clothes can a woman wear in prayer?" She said, "She can pray in a shift that reaches down and covers the top of her feet
Traduction en ourdou
ام حرام سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے پوچھا حضرت ام سلمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے کہ عورت کس قدر کپڑوں میں نماز پڑھ سکتی ہے تو جواب دیا کہ خمار اور کرتہ میں ایسا لمبا ہو کہ اس سے پاؤں ڈھپ جائیں ۔ عبیداللہ خولانی جو لے پالک تھے حضرت میمونہ ام المومنین کے ان سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت میمونہ نماز پڑھتی تھیں کرتہ اور خمار یعنی سر بندھن میں اور ازار نہیں پہنے ہوتی تھیں ۔
