Hadith 257 — Livre 7: Tahajjud
كتاب قيام الليل
On fit savoir à Ismail Ibn Abi Hakim, qu'on a fait part à l'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) au sujet d'une femme qui passait la nuit en priant. Il demanda: «qui est cette femme»? On lui répondit: «C'est Al-Hawla Bint Touwait qui ne dort jamais la nuit». Comme cela déplut à l'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) de sorte qu'on put remarquer la malaise sur son visage, il dit: «Allah, le Béni et le Très-Haut ne se lasse pas de vous (récompenser pour vos œuvres pies) tant que vous ne vous lassiez pas de les faire. Faites de ces œuvres tant que vous en êtes capables»

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَمِعَ امْرَأَةً مِنَ اللَّيْلِ تُصَلِّي فَقَالَ " مَنْ هَذِهِ " . فَقِيلَ لَهُ هَذِهِ الْحَوْلاَءُ بِنْتُ تُوَيْتٍ لاَ تَنَامُ اللَّيْلَ . فَكَرِهَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَتَّى عُرِفَتِ الْكَرَاهِيَةُ فِي وَجْهِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ " إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى لاَ يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا اكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ " .
Traduction anglaise
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ismail from Ibn Abi Hakim that he had heard that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, heard a woman praying at night. He said, "Who is that?" and someone said to him,"It is al-Hawla bint Tuwayt, she does not sleep in the night." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, disapproved of that and his disapproval showed in his face. Then he said, "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, does not become weary, but you become weary. Take on whatever is within your capability

اسمعیل بن ابی حکیم کو پہنچا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہ آپ نے سنا ذکر ایک عورت کا جو نماز پڑھا کرتی تھی رات بھر تو پوچھا کہ کون ہے یہ عورت کہا لوگوں نے یہ حولاء ہے بیٹی تویت کی نہیں سوتی ہے رات کو تو برا معلوم ہوا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ امر یہاں تک کہ معلوم ہوئی ناراضگی آپ کے چہرے سے پھر فرمایا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خداوند کریم نہیں بیزار ہوتا تمہاری بیزرای تک اتنا عمل کر جسکی طاقت رکھو۔
