كتاب أوقيت الصلاة
Omar Ibn Al-Khattab écrivit à Abou Moussa Al-Ach'ari: «fais la prière de l'asr tant que le soleil est encore blanc et pur, et qu'un cavalier puisse parcourir une distance de trois parasanges (avant son coucher); celle du soir est à faire en s'étendant jusqu'à l'écoulement du premier tiers de la nuit; et si tu veux la retarder, jusqu'à minuit, qu'il en soit, mais prends garde de ne pas être parmi les insouciants (à ne pas la négliger)»

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، كَتَبَ إِلَى أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ أَنْ صَلِّ الْعَصْرَ، وَالشَّمْسُ، بَيْضَاءُ نَقِيَّةٌ قَدْرَ مَا يَسِيرُ الرَّاكِبُ ثَلاَثَةَ فَرَاسِخَ وَأَنْ صَلِّ الْعِشَاءَ مَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ فَإِنْ أَخَّرْتَ فَإِلَى شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ وَلاَ تَكُنْ مِنَ الْغَافِلِينَ .
Traduction anglaise
Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that Umar ibn al-Khattab wrote to Abu Musa al-Ashari that he should pray asr when the sun was still pure white so that a man could ride three farsakhs (before maghrib) and that he should pray Isha during the first third of the night, or, if he delayed it, then up until the middle of the night, and he warned him not to be forgetful
Traduction en ourdou
عروہ بن زبیر سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت عمربن خطاب نے ابوموسیٰ اشعری کو لکھا کہ نماز پڑھ عصر کی اور آفتاب سفید ہو اتنا دن ہو کہ اونٹ کا سوار بعد نماز عصر کے نو میل جا سکے اور پڑھ عشاء کی نماز تہائی رات تک آخر درجہ آدھی رات تک اور غافل مت ہو۔
