Rapporté par Ali ibn Husayn رضي الله عنه : Miswar ibn Makhrama lui a rapporté qu’Ali ibn Abi Talib avait demandé la main de la fille d’Abou Jahl alors qu’il était marié à Fatima, la fille du Messager d’Allah ﷺ. Quand Fatima l’a appris, elle est venue voir le Messager d’Allah ﷺ et a dit : « Les gens disent que tu ne te mets jamais en colère pour tes filles, et voilà qu’Ali veut épouser la fille d’Abou Jahl. » Makhrama a dit : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ s’est alors levé, a récité le tashahhud et a dit : « Pour en venir au fait, j’ai donné ma fille (Zaynab) à Aboul-‘As ibn Rabi’, il m’a parlé et il a toujours dit la vérité. En vérité, Fatima, la fille de Muhammad, fait partie de moi et je n’accepte pas qu’elle soit mise à l’épreuve. Par Allah, la fille du Messager d’Allah ne sera jamais réunie avec la fille de l’ennemi d’Allah (comme coépouses) chez un même homme. » Ali a alors renoncé à son projet de mariage

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ، أَنَّ الْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ خَطَبَ بِنْتَ أَبِي جَهْلٍ وَعِنْدَهُ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمَّا سَمِعَتْ بِذَلِكَ فَاطِمَةُ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتْ لَهُ إِنَّ قَوْمَكَ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ أَنَّكَ لاَ تَغْضَبُ لِبَنَاتِكَ وَهَذَا عَلِيٌّ نَاكِحًا ابْنَةَ أَبِي جَهْلٍ . قَالَ الْمِسْوَرُ فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَسَمِعْتُهُ حِينَ تَشَهَّدَ ثُمَّ قَالَ " أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنِّي أَنْكَحْتُ أَبَا الْعَاصِ بْنَ الرَّبِيعِ فَحَدَّثَنِي فَصَدَقَنِي وَإِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ مُضْغَةٌ مِنِّي وَإِنَّمَا أَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَفْتِنُوهَا وَإِنَّهَا وَاللَّهِ لاَ تَجْتَمِعُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَبِنْتُ عَدُوِّ اللَّهِ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ وَاحِدٍ أَبَدًا " . قَالَ فَتَرَكَ عَلِيٌّ الْخِطْبَةَ .
Traduction anglaise
Ali b. Husain reported that Miswar b. Makhramah informed him that 'Ali b. Abi Talib sent the proposal of marriage to the daughter of Abu Jahl as he had Fatima, the daughter of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), (as his wife). When Fatima heard about it, she came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and said:The people say that you never feel angry on account of your daughters and now 'Ali is going to marry the daughter of Abu Jahl. Makhramah said: Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) rose up and I heard him reciting Tashahhud and say: Now to the point. I gave a daughter of mine (Zainab) to Abu'l-'As b. Rabi, and he spoke to me and spoke the truth. Verily Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad, is a part of me and I do not approve that she may be put to any trial and by Allah, the daughter of Allah's Messenger cannot be combined with the daughter of God's enemy (as the co-wives) of one person. Thereupon 'Ali gave up (the idea of his intended) marriage

شعیب نے زہری سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : مجھے علی بن حسین ( زین العابدین ) نے خبر دی کہ مسور بن مخرمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے انھیں بتا یا کہ حضرت علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ابو جہل کی بیٹی کے لیے نکا ح کا پیغام دیا : جبکہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی بیٹی حضرت فاطمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا ان کے پاس ( نکاح میں ) تھیں تو جب حضرت فاطمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے یہ بات سنی تو وہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئیں تو آپ سے کہا : آپ کی قوم ( بنو ہاشم ) کے لو گ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ آپ کو اپنی بیٹیوں کے لیے غصہ نہیں آتا اور یہ علی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ہیں جو ابو جہل کی بیٹی سے نکا ح کرنے والے ہیں ۔ حضرت مسور رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا : تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( خطبہ دینے کے لیے ) کھڑے ہو ئے جب آپ نے شہادت کے الفاظ ادا کیے تو میں نے سنا ، پھر آپ نے فر ما یا : " اس کے بعد!میں نے ابو العاص بن ربیع کو رشتہ دیا تو اس نے میرے ساتھ بات کی تو سچی بات کی ، بے شک فاطمہ بنت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم میری جان کا ایک حصہ ہے ۔ مجھے یہ بہت برا لگتا ہے کہ لو گ اسے آزمائش میں ڈالیں ۔ اور بات یہ ہے کہ اللہ کی قسم!اللہ کے رسول کی بیٹی اور اللہ کے دشمن کی بیٹی ایک شخص کے نکا ح میں اکٹھی نہیں ہو ں گی ۔ " ( حضرت مسور رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ) کہا : تو حضرت علی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے نکا ح کا ارادہ ترک کر دیا ۔
