Rapporté par Ubayy : À propos du hadith précédent, il a dit : « Nous pensions que c’était une parole du Coran jusqu’à ce que la sourate commençant par : “La course aux richesses vous distrait” (102:1) soit révélée. »

Texte arabe original
وَقَالَ لَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أُبَىٍّ، قَالَ كُنَّا نَرَى هَذَا مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ {أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ}
Traduction anglaise
Ubayy said (referring to the hadith above), "We considered this as a saying from the Qur'an till the Surah (beginning with):"The mutual rivalry (for piling up of worldly things) diverts you' (102:1) was revealed

اور ہم سے ابوالولید نے بیان کیا، ان سے حماد بن سلمہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ثابت نے اور ان سے انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے اور ان سے ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ ہم اسے قرآن ہی میں سے سمجھتے تھے یہاں تک کہ آیت «ألهاكم التكاثر» نازل ہوئی۔
