Rapporté par `Aisha : Les gens avaient l'habitude de jeûner le jour de 'Ashura' avant que le jeûne du Ramadan ne soit prescrit, mais quand l'ordre du jeûne obligatoire du Ramadan a été révélé, chacun était libre de jeûner ce jour-là ('Ashura') ou non

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ كَانَ عَاشُورَاءُ يُصَامُ قَبْلَ رَمَضَانَ، فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ رَمَضَانُ قَالَ " مَنْ شَاءَ صَامَ، وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَفْطَرَ ".
Traduction anglaise
Narrated `Aisha:The people used to fast on the day of 'Ashura' before fasting in Ramadan was prescribed but when (the order of compulsory fasting in) Ramadan was revealed, it was up to one to fast on it (i.e. 'Ashura') or not

ہم سے عبداللہ بن محمد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابن عیینہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے زہری نے، ان سے عروہ نے اور ان سے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ عاشوراء کا روزہ رمضان کے روزوں کے حکم سے پہلے رکھا جاتا تھا۔ پھر جب رمضان کے روزوں کا حکم نازل ہوا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جس کا جی چاہے عاشوراء کا روزہ رکھے اور جس کا جی چاہے نہ رکھے۔
