Rapporté par Abu Musa : Nous avons appris la nouvelle de la migration du Prophète (ﷺ) de La Mecque à Médine alors que nous étions au Yémen. Nous sommes donc partis en tant qu’émigrants vers lui. Nous étions trois : moi et mes deux frères. J’étais le plus jeune, l’un des deux était Abu Burda et l’autre Abu Ruhm, et nous étions au total 53 ou 52 hommes de mon peuple. Nous avons embarqué sur un bateau qui nous a emmenés chez le Négus en Éthiopie. Là-bas, nous avons rencontré Ja`far bin Abi Talib et nous sommes restés avec lui. Ensuite, nous sommes tous venus à Médine et nous avons rencontré le Prophète (ﷺ) au moment de la conquête de Khaybar. Certaines personnes, c’est-à-dire les gens du bateau, nous disaient : « Nous avons émigré avant vous. » Asma’ bint ‘Umais, qui était venue avec nous, est allée rendre visite à Hafsa, l’épouse du Prophète (ﷺ). Elle avait émigré avec les autres musulmans partis chez le Négus. `Umar est venu voir Hafsa pendant qu’Asma’ bint ‘Umais était avec elle. En voyant Asma’, `Umar a demandé : « Qui est-ce ? » Elle a répondu : « Asma’ bint ‘Umais. » `Umar a dit : « Est-ce l’Éthiopienne ? Celle qui a voyagé par la mer ? » Asma’ a répondu : « Oui. » `Umar a dit : « Nous avons émigré avant vous, gens du bateau, donc nous avons plus de droits que vous auprès du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ). » À cela, Asma’ s’est fâchée et a dit : « Non, par Allah ! Pendant que vous étiez avec le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), qui nourrissait les affamés parmi vous et conseillait les ignorants, nous étions dans le pays lointain et détesté d’Éthiopie, et tout cela pour le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ). Par Allah, je ne mangerai ni ne boirai rien avant d’avoir informé le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) de tout ce que tu as dit. Là-bas, nous avons souffert et eu peur. حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا بُرَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ بَلَغَنَا مَخْرَجُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَنَحْنُ بِالْيَمَنِ، فَخَرَجْنَا مُهَاجِرِينَ إِلَيْهِ أَنَا، وَأَخَوَانِ لِي أَنَا أَصْغَرُهُمْ، أَحَدُهُمَا أَبُو بُرْدَةَ، وَالآخَرُ أَبُو رُهْمٍ ـ إِمَّا قَالَ بِضْعٌ وَإِمَّا قَالَ ـ فِي ثَلاَثَةٍ وَخَمْسِينَ أَوِ اثْنَيْنِ وَخَمْسِينَ رَجُلاً مِنْ قَوْمِي، فَرَكِبْنَا سَفِينَةً، فَأَلْقَتْنَا سَفِينَتُنَا إِلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ بِالْحَبَشَةِ، فَوَافَقْنَا جَعْفَرَ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَأَقَمْنَا مَعَهُ حَتَّى قَدِمْنَا جَمِيعًا، فَوَافَقْنَا النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَ افْتَتَحَ خَيْبَرَ، وَكَانَ أُنَاسٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ يَقُولُونَ لَنَا ـ يَعْنِي لأَهْلِ السَّفِينَةِ ـ سَبَقْنَاكُمْ بِالْهِجْرَةِ، وَدَخَلَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ، وَهْىَ مِمَّنْ قَدِمَ مَعَنَا، عَلَى حَفْصَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم زَائِرَةً، وَقَدْ كَانَتْ هَاجَرَتْ إِلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ فِيمَنْ هَاجَرَ، فَدَخَلَ عُمَرُ عَلَى حَفْصَةَ وَأَسْمَاءُ عِنْدَهَا، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ حِينَ رَأَى أَسْمَاءَ مَنْ هَذِهِ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ. قَالَ عُمَرُ الْحَبَشِيَّةُ هَذِهِ الْبَحْرِيَّةُ هَذِهِ قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ نَعَمْ. قَالَ سَبَقْنَاكُمْ بِالْهِجْرَةِ، فَنَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْكُمْ. فَغَضِبَتْ وَقَالَتْ كَلاَّ وَاللَّهِ، كُنْتُمْ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُطْعِمُ جَائِعَكُمْ، وَيَعِظُ جَاهِلَكُمْ، وَكُنَّا فِي دَارِ أَوْ فِي أَرْضِ الْبُعَدَاءِ الْبُغَضَاءِ بِالْحَبَشَةِ، وَذَلِكَ فِي اللَّهِ وَفِي رَسُولِهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَايْمُ اللَّهِ، لاَ أَطْعَمُ طَعَامًا، وَلاَ أَشْرَبُ شَرَابًا حَتَّى أَذْكُرَ مَا قُلْتَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَنَحْنُ كُنَّا نُؤْذَى وَنُخَافُ، وَسَأَذْكُرُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَسْأَلُهُ، وَاللَّهِ لاَ أَكْذِبُ وَلاَ أَزِيغُ وَلاَ أَزِيدُ عَلَيْهِ.

Narrated Abu Musa:The news of the migration of the Prophet (from Mecca to Medina) reached us while we were in Yemen. So we set out as emigrants towards him. We were (three) I and my two brothers. I was the youngest of them, and one of the two was Abu Burda, and the other, Abu Ruhm, and our total number was either 53 or 52 men from my people. We got on board a boat and our boat took us to Negus in Ethiopia. There we met Ja`far bin Abi Talib and stayed with him. Then we all came (to Medina) and met the Prophet (ﷺ) at the time of the conquest of Khaibar. Some of the people used to say to us, namely the people of the ship, "We have migrated before you." Asma' bint 'Umais who was one of those who had come with us, came as a visitor to Hafsa, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ). She had migrated along with those other Muslims who migrated to Negus. `Umar came to Hafsa while Asma' bint 'Umais was with her. `Umar, on seeing Asma,' said, "Who is this?" She said, "Asma' bint 'Umais," `Umar said, "Is she the Ethiopian? Is she the sea-faring lady?" Asma' replied, "Yes." `Umar said, "We have migrated before you (people of the boat), so we have got more right than you over Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) " On that Asma' became angry and said, "No, by Allah, while you were with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who was feeding the hungry ones amongst you, and advised the ignorant ones amongst you, we were in the far-off hated land of Ethiopia, and all that was for the sake of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . By Allah, I will neither eat any food nor drink anything till I inform Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) of all that you have said. There we were harmed and frightened. I will mention this to the Prophet (ﷺ) and will not tell a lie or curtail your saying or add something to it

مجھ سے محمد بن علاء نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے ابواسامہ نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے برید بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے ابوبردہ نے اور ان سے ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ جب ہمیں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ہجرت کے متعلق خبر ملی تو ہم یمن میں تھے۔ اس لیے ہم بھی نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں ہجرت کی نیت سے نکل پڑے۔ میں اور میرے دو بھائی ‘ میں دونوں سے چھوٹا تھا۔ میرے ایک بھائی کا نام ابوبردہ رضی اللہ عنہ تھا اور دوسرے کا ابو رہم۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کچھ اوپر پچاس یا انہوں نے یوں بیان کیا کہ تریپن ( 53 ) یا باون ( 52 ) میری قوم کے لوگ ساتھ تھے۔ ہم کشتی پر سوار ہوئے لیکن ہماری کشتی نے ہمیں نجاشی کے ملک حبشہ میں لا ڈالا۔ وہاں ہماری ملاقات جعفر بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ عنہ سے ہو گئی ‘ جو پہلے ہی مکہ سے ہجرت کر کے وہاں پہنچ چکے تھے۔ ہم نے وہاں انہیں کے ساتھ قیام کیا ‘ پھر ہم سب مدینہ ساتھ روانہ ہوئے۔ یہاں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں اس وقت پہنچے جب آپ خیبر فتح کر چکے تھے۔ کچھ لوگ ہم کشتی والوں سے کہنے لگے کہ ہم نے تم سے پہلے ہجرت کی ہے اور اسماء بنت عمیس رضی اللہ عنہا جو ہمارے ساتھ مدینہ آئی تھیں ‘ ام المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئیں ‘ ان سے ملاقات کے لیے وہ بھی نجاشی کے ملک میں ہجرت کرنے والوں کے ساتھ ہجرت کر کے چلی گئی تھیں۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ بھی حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے گھر پہنچے۔ اس وقت اسماء بنت عمیس رضی اللہ عنہا وہیں تھیں۔ جب عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں دیکھا تو دریافت فرمایا کہ یہ کون ہیں؟ ام المؤمنین رضی اللہ عنہا نے بتایا کہ اسماء بنت عمیس۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس پر کہا اچھا وہی جو حبشہ سے بحری سفر کر کے آئی ہیں۔۔ اسماء رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ جی ہاں۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان سے کہا کہ ہم تم لوگوں سے ہجرت میں آگے ہیں اس لیے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ہم تمہارے مقابلہ میں زیادہ قریب ہیں۔ اسماء رضی اللہ عنہا اس پر بہت غصہ ہو گئیں اور کہا ہرگز نہیں: اللہ کی قسم! تم لوگ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ رہے ہو ‘ تم میں جو بھوکے ہوتے تھے اسے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھانا کھلاتے تھے اور جو ناواقف ہوتے اسے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نصیحت و موعظت کیا کرتے تھے۔ لیکن ہم بہت دور حبشہ میں غیروں اور دشمنوں کے ملک میں رہتے تھے ‘ یہ سب کچھ ہم نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول کے راستے ہی میں تو کیا اور اللہ کی قسم! میں اس وقت تک نہ کھانا کھاؤں گی نہ پانی پیوں گی جب تک تمہاری بات رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے نہ کہہ لوں۔ ہمیں اذیت دی جاتی تھی ‘ دھمکایا ڈرایا جاتا تھا۔ میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کا ذکر کروں گی اور آپ سے اس کے متعلق پوچھوں گی۔ اللہ کی قسم نہ میں جھوٹ بولوں گی ‘ نہ کج روی اختیار کروں گی اور نہ کسی ( خلاف واقعہ بات کا ) اضافہ کروں گی۔
