Rapporté par Anas : Une fois, du vivant du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), les habitants de Médine ont souffert de la sécheresse. Alors que le Prophète faisait un sermon un vendredi, un homme se leva et dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Les chevaux et les moutons sont morts. Veux-tu invoquer Allah pour qu’Il nous envoie la pluie ? » Le Prophète (ﷺ) leva les deux mains et invoqua. Le ciel était alors aussi clair que du verre. Soudain, un vent souffla, des nuages se formèrent et il se mit à pleuvoir abondamment. Nous sommes sortis de la mosquée en marchant dans l’eau jusqu’à nos maisons. Il a plu ainsi jusqu’au vendredi suivant, quand le même homme ou un autre se leva et dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Les maisons se sont effondrées ; invoque Allah pour qu’Il arrête la pluie. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) sourit et dit : « Ô Allah, fais pleuvoir autour de nous et non sur nous. » J’ai alors vu les nuages se séparer et former comme une couronne autour de Médine

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، وَعَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ أَصَابَ أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ قَحْطٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَبَيْنَا هُوَ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ جُمُعَةٍ إِذْ قَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلَكَتِ الْكُرَاعُ، هَلَكَتِ الشَّاءُ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ يَسْقِينَا، فَمَدَّ يَدَيْهِ وَدَعَا. قَالَ أَنَسٌ وَإِنَّ السَّمَاءَ لَمِثْلُ الزُّجَاجَةِ فَهَاجَتْ رِيحٌ أَنْشَأَتْ سَحَابًا ثُمَّ اجْتَمَعَ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَتِ السَّمَاءُ عَزَالِيَهَا، فَخَرَجْنَا نَخُوضُ الْمَاءَ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا مَنَازِلَنَا، فَلَمْ نَزَلْ نُمْطَرُ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ الأُخْرَى، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ ـ أَوْ غَيْرُهُ ـ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، تَهَدَّمَتِ الْبُيُوتُ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ يَحْبِسْهُ. فَتَبَسَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ " حَوَالَيْنَا وَلاَ عَلَيْنَا ". فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَى السَّحَابِ تَصَدَّعَ حَوْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ كَأَنَّهُ إِكْلِيلٌ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Anas:Once during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), the people of Medina suffered from drought. So while the Prophet was delivering a sermon on a Friday a man got up saying, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! The horses and sheep have perished. Will you invoke Allah to bless us with rain?" The Prophet (ﷺ) lifted both his hands and invoked. The sky at that time was as clear as glass. Suddenly a wind blew, raising clouds that gathered together, and it started raining heavily. We came out (of the Mosque) wading through the flowing water till we reached our homes. It went on raining till the next Friday, when the same man or some other man stood up and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! The houses have collapsed; please invoke Allah to withhold the rain." On that the Prophet (ﷺ) smiled and said, "O Allah, (let it rain) around us and not on us." I then looked at the clouds to see them separating forming a sort of a crown round Medina

ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے حماد نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبدالعزیز نے اور ان سے انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس حدیث کو یونس سے بھی روایت کیا ہے۔ ان سے ثابت نے اور ان سے انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں ایک سال قحط پڑا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جمعہ کی نماز کے لیے خطبہ دے رہے تھے کہ ایک شخص نے کھڑے ہو کر کہا: یا رسول اللہ! گھوڑے بھوک سے ہلاک ہو گئے اور بکریاں بھی ہلاک ہو گئیں۔ آپ اللہ تعالیٰ سے دعا کیجئے کہ وہ ہم پر پانی برسائے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے ہاتھ اٹھائے اور دعا کی۔ انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ اس وقت آسمان شیشے کی طرح ( بالکل صاف ) تھا۔ اتنے میں ہوا چلی۔ اس نے ابر ( بادل ) کو اٹھایا پھر ابر کے بہت سے ٹکڑے جمع ہو گئے اور آسمان نے گویا اپنے دہانے کھول دیئے۔ ہم جب مسجد سے نکلے تو گھر پہنچتے پہنچتے پانی میں ڈوب چکے تھے۔ بارش یوں ہی دوسرے جمعہ تک برابر ہوتی رہی۔ دوسرے جمعہ کو وہی صاحب یا کوئی دوسرے پھر کھڑے ہوئے اور عرض کیا: اے اللہ کے رسول! مکانات گر گئے۔ دعا فرمائیے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ بارش کو روک دے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مسکرائے اور فرمایا: اے اللہ! اب ہمارے چاروں طرف بارش برسا ( جہاں اس کی ضرورت ہو ) ہم پر نہ برسا۔ انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے جو نظر اٹھائی تو دیکھا کہ اسی وقت ابر پھٹ کر مدینہ کے ارد گرد سر پیچ کی طرح ہو گیا تھا۔
