Rapporté par Ibn `Abbas : Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Aucun serviteur (d’Allah) ne doit dire que je suis meilleur que Yunus fils de Matta. » Ainsi, le Prophète a mentionné le nom de son père avec le sien

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مَا يَنْبَغِي لِعَبْدٍ أَنْ يَقُولَ إِنِّي خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى ". وَنَسَبَهُ إِلَى أَبِيهِ.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No slave (of Allah) should say that I am better than Yunus bin Matta." So the Prophet mentioned his father's name with his name

ہم سے حفص بن عمر نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے قتادہ نے ‘ ان سے ابوالعالیہ نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”کسی شخص کے لیے مناسب نہیں کہ مجھے یونس بن متی سے بہتر قرار دے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے والد کی طرف منسوب کر کے ان کا نام لیا تھا۔“
