Rapporté par Az-Zubair bin Al 'Awwam : Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Il vaut mieux prendre une corde, couper du bois, l’attacher en fagot et le vendre, et ainsi Allah éloignera son visage de l’Enfer, plutôt que de demander aux autres qui peuvent donner ou non. »

Texte arabe original
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لأَنْ يَأْخُذَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَحْبُلاً، فَيَأْخُذَ حُزْمَةً مِنْ حَطَبٍ فَيَبِيعَ، فَيَكُفَّ اللَّهُ بِهِ وَجْهَهُ، خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ أُعْطِيَ أَمْ مُنِعَ ".
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Az-Zubair bin Al 'Awwam:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No doubt, one had better take a rope (and cut) and tie a bundle of wood and sell it whereby Allah will keep his face away (from Hell-fire) rather than ask others who may give him or not
Traduction en ourdou
ہم سے معلی بن اسد نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے وہیب نے بیان کیا، ان سے ہاشم نے، ان سے ان کے والد نے اور ان سے زبیر بن عوام نے رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا اگر کوئی شخص رسی لے کر لکڑیوں کا گھٹا لائے، پھر اسے بیچے اور اس طرح اللہ تعالیٰ اس کی آبرو محفوظ رکھے تو یہ اس سے بہتر ہے کہ وہ لوگوں کے سامنے ہاتھ پھیلائے اور ( بھیک ) اسے دی جائے یا نہ دی جائے۔ اس کی بھی کوئی امید نہ ہو۔
