Hadith 1169 — Buch 3: The Book Of The Prayer For Rain (Kitab al-Istisqa')

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: The people came to the Prophet (ﷺ) weeping (due to drought). He said (making supplication): O Allah! give us rain which will replenish us, abundant, fertilising and profitable, not injurious, granting it now without delay. He (the narrator) said: Thereupon the sky became overcast

جابربن عبداللہ ؓ کا بیان ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس کچھ لوگ (بارش نہ برسنے کی وجہ سے) روتے ہوئے آئے تو آپ ﷺ نے یوں دعا فرمائی «اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا غَيْثًا مُغِيثًا، مَرِيئًا مَرِيعًا، نَافِعًا غَيْرَ ضَارٍّ، عَاجِلًا غَيْرَ آجِلٍ» ”اے اللہ! ہمیں بارش عنایت فرما، ازحد مفید، مددگار، بہترین انجام والی، جو شادابی لائے، نفع آور ہو، کسی ضرر کا باعث نہ بنے اور جلدی آئے، دیر نہ کرے۔“ سیدنا جابر ؓ نے بیان کیا کہ (اس دعا کے بعد فوراً) ان پر بادل چھا گیا۔
