Thabit ibn Qurra
The Harranian polymath — 826–901 CE
One of the greatest translators and scientists: originator of the amicable numbers rule (each number equal to the sum of the other's divisors), corrector of the laws for measuring pyramid volumes, and a precise re-translation of Aristotle, Euclid and Archimedes. His work on kinetic readiness anticipated ideas later found in the laws of motion.
