Sage of Nishapur — 1048–1131 CE
Brought geometric solutions to cubic equations to their fullest extent, classifying third-degree equations with conic sections. He led the Jalali calendar team that measured the solar year with accuracy exceeding today's Gregorian calendar, and is equally famous for his philosophical quatrains.
