About Us

Discover Islam is an independent website offering reliable, completely free Islamic content in eight languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese and Urdu. Our goal is for every person — Muslim or simply curious about Islam — to find clear, easy-to-navigate material free of clutter and intrusive ads.

Our mission

We believe knowledge should be simplified, not overcomplicated. That is why the site is built as a practical guide: if you want prayer times for your city, they are one tap away; if you need the qibla direction, you get a clear compass dial that works on every device; if you want to read the Quran, tafsir or hadith, you reach the text directly.

What we offer

The Holy Quran in Uthmani script with tafsir, a hadith library covering the two Sahihs, the four Sunan, Muwatta Malik and the Forty Nawawi with viewable English and Urdu translations, prayer times for more than 500 cities worldwide, astronomically computed qibla direction for every city, Hajj and Umrah supplications stage by stage, morning and evening adhkar with a counter, introductions to leading scholars and the landmarks of the Muslim world, and a Today page combining weather with Hijri and Gregorian dates in one place.

Our sources and methodology

We present Quranic and hadith texts exactly as they appear in the recognized sources and cite the reference for every text. Prayer times are computed with the well-known calculation methods (Umm al-Qura, the Egyptian General Authority of Survey, the Muslim World League) and users can choose the method. The qibla angle is the great-circle bearing to the Kaaba using its known coordinates. We never attribute a hadith to the Prophet ﷺ without a text that can be verified in the hadith collections.

Your privacy

We do not ask you to register an account and we do not sell your data. Weather, clock and qibla features run directly in your device, and what is stored on your device is explained in our Privacy Policy page.
