The Herodotus of the Arabs — 896–956 CE
A travelling historian who gathered in Meadows of Gold the geography, legends, peoples and religions of the world, travelling to Sind, China, Egypt and the Maghreb. He described the monsoons and strange animals of Zanj lands, and was the first to employ comparison between reports in history.
