Rapporté par `Umar bin Al-Khattab : Par Celui qui détient mon âme dans Sa main, si je n’avais pas peur que les autres musulmans restent dans la pauvreté, je partagerais les terres de chaque village que je pourrais conquérir (entre les combattants), comme le Prophète (ﷺ) a partagé les terres de Khaybar. Mais je préfère les laisser comme un bien commun, pour que leur revenu soit distribué entre eux

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي زَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يَقُولُ أَمَا وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَتْرُكَ آخِرَ النَّاسِ بَبَّانًا لَيْسَ لَهُمْ شَىْءٌ، مَا فُتِحَتْ عَلَىَّ قَرْيَةٌ إِلاَّ قَسَمْتُهَا كَمَا قَسَمَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَيْبَرَ، وَلَكِنِّي أَتْرُكُهَا خِزَانَةً لَهُمْ يَقْتَسِمُونَهَا.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated `Umar bin Al-Khattab:By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, were I not afraid that the other Muslims might be left in poverty, I would divide (the land of) whatever village I may conquer (among the fighters), as the Prophet (ﷺ) divided the land of Khaibar. But I prefer to leave it as a (source of) a common treasury for them to distribute its revenue amongst themselves

ہم سے سعید بن ابی مریم نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم کو محمد بن جعفر نے خبر دی ‘ کہا کہ مجھے زید نے خبر دی ‘ انہیں ان کے والد نے اور انہوں نے عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا انہوں نے کہا ہاں اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے اگر اس کا خطرہ نہ ہوتا کہ بعد کی نسلیں بے جائیداد رہ جائیں گی اور ان کے پاس کچھ نہ ہو گا تو جو بھی بستی میرے زمانہ خلافت میں فتح ہوتی ‘ میں اسے اسی طرح تقسیم کر دیتا جس طرح نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خیبر کی تقسیم کی تھی۔ میں ان مفتوحہ اراضی کو بعد میں آنے والے مسلمانوں کے لیے محفوظ چھوڑے جا رہا ہوں تاکہ وہ اسے تقسیم کرتے رہیں۔
