كتاب الجنائز
Rapporté par Anas : Le Prophète a entendu un bruit venant d’une tombe et a demandé : "Quand cet homme est-il mort ?" Ils ont répondu : "Il est mort pendant la période de l’ignorance (Jahiliyyah)." Alors il fut soulagé et dit : "Si je n’avais pas peur que vous cessiez de vous enterrer les uns les autres, j’aurais demandé à Allah de vous faire entendre le châtiment de la tombe

Texte arabe original
أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَمِعَ صَوْتًا مِنْ قَبْرٍ فَقَالَ " مَتَى مَاتَ هَذَا " . قَالُوا مَاتَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ . فَسُرَّ بِذَلِكَ وَقَالَ " لَوْلاَ أَنْ لاَ تَدَافَنُوا لَدَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُسْمِعَكُمْ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Anas that the Prophet heard a sound from a grave and said:"When died this man die?" They said: "he died during the Jahiliyyah." So he was delighted and said: "Were it not that you would not bury one another, I would have prayed to Allah to make you hear the torment of the grave
Traduction en ourdou
انس رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کسی قبر سے ایک آواز سنی تو پوچھا: ”یہ کب مرا ہے؟“ لوگوں نے کہا: زمانہ جاہلیت میں مرا ہے، آپ اس بات سے خوش ہوئے، اور فرمایا: ”اگر یہ ڈر نہ ہوتا کہ تم ایک دوسرے کو دفن کرنا چھوڑ دو گے، تو میں اللہ تعالیٰ سے دعا کرتا کہ وہ تمہیں عذاب قبر سنا دے“۔
