Hadith 6430 — Livre 81: To make the Heart Tender (Ar-Riqaq)

Rapporté par Qais : J’ai entendu Khabbab, qui avait sept marques de brûlure sur le ventre, dire : « Si le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ne nous avait pas interdit de demander la mort à Allah, je l’aurais fait. Les compagnons de Muhammad sont partis de ce monde sans avoir reçu de récompense ici-bas (leur récompense sera parfaite dans l’au-delà), alors que nous avons accumulé des richesses terrestres que nous ne pouvons utiliser que pour la terre (c’est-à-dire pour construire des maisons). »

حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ خَبَّابًا، وَقَدِ اكْتَوَى يَوْمَئِذٍ سَبْعًا فِي بَطْنِهِ وَقَالَ لَوْلاَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَانَا أَنْ نَدْعُوَ بِالْمَوْتِ لَدَعَوْتُ بِالْمَوْتِ، إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَضَوْا وَلَمْ تَنْقُصْهُمُ الدُّنْيَا بِشَىْءٍ، وَإِنَّا أَصَبْنَا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا مَا لاَ نَجِدُ لَهُ مَوْضِعًا إِلاَّ التُّرَابَ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Qais:I heard Khabbab, who had branded his `Abdomen with seven brands, saying, "Had Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) not forbidden us to invoke Allah for death, I would have invoked Allah for death. The companions of Muhammad have left this world without taking anything of their reward in it (i.e., they will have perfect reward in the Hereafter), but we have collected of the worldly wealth what we cannot spend but on earth (i.e. on building houses)
Traduction en ourdou
مجھ سے یحییٰ بن موسیٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے وکیع نے بیان کیا، ان سے اسماعیل بن ابی خالد کوفی نے بیان کیا، ان سے قیس بن ابی حازم نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے خباب بن ارت رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، اس دن ان کے پیٹ میں سات داغ لگائے گئے تھے۔ انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اگر ہمیں موت کی دعا کرنے سے منع نہ کیا ہوتا تو میں اپنی موت کی دعا کرتا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے صحابہ گزر گئے اور دنیا نے ان کے ( اعمال خیر میں سے ) کچھ نہیں گھٹایا اور ہم نے دنیا سے اتنا کچھ حاصل کیا کہ مٹی کے سوا اس کی کوئی جگہ نہیں۔
