Rapporté par `Umar : Les femmes du Prophète (ﷺ), par jalousie, se sont soutenues l’une l’autre contre lui. Je leur ai donc dit : « Il se peut que, s’il vous divorce toutes, Allah lui donne à votre place des épouses meilleures que vous. » C’est alors que ce verset a été révélé

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ اجْتَمَعَ نِسَاءُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الْغَيْرَةِ عَلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُنَّ عَسَى رَبُّهُ إِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَنْ يُبَدِّلَهُ أَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِنْكُنَّ. فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated `Umar:The wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) out of their jealousy, backed each other against the Prophet, so I said to them, "It may be, if he divorced you all, that Allah will give him, instead of you wives better than you." So this Verse was revealed
Traduction en ourdou
ہم سے عمرو بن عون نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہشیم نے بیان کیا، ان سے حمید نے اور ان سے انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ازواج نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو غیرت دلانے کے لیے جمع ہو گئیں تو میں نے ان سے کہا اگر نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم طلاق دے دیں تو ان کا پروردگار تمہارے بدلے میں انہیں تم سے بہتر بیویاں دیدے گا۔ چنانچہ یہ آیت نازل ہوئی «عسى ربه إن طلقكن» آخر تک۔
