Hadith 3742 — Livre 62: Companions of the Prophet
كتاب فضائل أصحاب النبي ﷺ
Rapporté par 'Alqama : Je suis allé au Sham et j’ai fait une prière de deux unités, puis j’ai dit : « Ô Allah ! Accorde-moi un bon compagnon pieux. » Je suis donc allé vers des gens et je me suis assis avec eux. Un vieil homme est venu s’asseoir à côté de moi. J’ai demandé : « Qui est-ce ? » Ils ont répondu : « C’est Abu Ad-Darda. » Je lui ai dit : « J’ai prié Allah de m’accorder un compagnon pieux et Il t’a envoyé vers moi. » Il m’a demandé : « D’où viens-tu ? » J’ai répondu : « Je viens des gens de Al-Kufa. » Il a dit : « N’y a-t-il pas parmi vous Ibn Um `Abd, celui qui portait les chaussures, le coussin (ou l’oreiller) et l’eau pour les ablutions ? Y a-t-il parmi vous celui qu’Allah a protégé du diable à la demande de Son Prophète ? Y a-t-il parmi vous celui qui garde les secrets du Prophète (ﷺ) que personne ne connaît sauf lui ? » Abu Darda a ensuite demandé : « Comment `Abdullah (bin Mas`ud) récitait-il la sourate qui commence par : ‘Par la nuit quand elle couvre (la lumière).’ (92.1) » J’ai alors récité devant lui : « Par la nuit quand elle enveloppe ; par le jour quand il brille ; et par le mâle et la femelle. » (91.1-3) Abu Ad-Darda a dit : « Par Allah, le Prophète (ﷺ) m’a fait réciter la sourate ainsi pendant que je l’écoutais. »

حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ،، قَالَ قَدِمْتُ الشَّأْمَ فَصَلَّيْتُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ قُلْتُ اللَّهُمَّ يَسِّرْ لِي جَلِيسًا صَالِحًا، فَأَتَيْتُ قَوْمًا فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَإِذَا شَيْخٌ قَدْ جَاءَ حَتَّى جَلَسَ إِلَى جَنْبِي، قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قَالُوا أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ. فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُيَسِّرَ لِي جَلِيسًا صَالِحًا فَيَسَّرَكَ لِي، قَالَ مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ قُلْتُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ. قَالَ أَوَلَيْسَ عِنْدَكُمُ ابْنُ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ صَاحِبُ النَّعْلَيْنِ وَالْوِسَادِ وَالْمِطْهَرَةِ وَفِيكُمُ الَّذِي أَجَارَهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ عَلَى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَوَلَيْسَ فِيكُمْ صَاحِبُ سِرِّ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الَّذِي لاَ يَعْلَمُ أَحَدٌ غَيْرُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ كَيْفَ يَقْرَأُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ {وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى}، فَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِ {وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى * وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى * وَالذَّكَرِ وَالأُنْثَى}. قَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَقْرَأَنِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ فِيهِ إِلَى فِيَّ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated 'Alqama:I went to Sham and offered a two-rak`at prayer and then said, "O Allah! Bless me with a good pious companion." So I went to some people and sat with them. An old man came and sat by my side. I asked, "Who is he?" They replied, "(He is) Abu-Ad-Darda.' I said (to him), "I prayed to Allah to bless me with a pious companion and He sent you to me." He asked me, "From where are you?" I replied, "From the people of Al-Kufa." He said, "Isn't there amongst you Ibn Um `Abd, the one who used to carry the shoes, the cushion(or pillow) and the water for ablution? Is there amongst you the one whom Allah gave Refuge from Satan through the request of His Prophet. Is there amongst you the one who keeps the secrets of the Prophet (ﷺ) which nobody knows except him?" Abu Darda further asked, "How does `Abdullah (bin Mas`ud) recite the Sura starting with, 'By the Night as it conceals (the light)." (92.1) Then I recited before him: 'By the Night as it envelops: And by the Day as it appears in brightness; And by male and female.' (91.1-3) On this Abu Ad-Darda' said, "By Allah, the Prophet (ﷺ) made me recite the Sura in this way while I was listening to him (reciting it)

ہم سے مالک بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے اسرائیل نے بیان کیا، ان سے مغیرہ نے، ان سے ابراہیم نے، ان سے علقمہ نے بیان کیا کہ میں جب شام آیا تو میں نے دو رکعت نماز پڑھ کر یہ دعا کی کہ اے اللہ! مجھے کوئی نیک ساتھی عطا فرما۔ پھر میں ایک قوم کے پاس آیا اور ان کی مجلس میں بیٹھ گیا، تھوڑی ہی دیر بعد ایک بزرگ آئے اور میرے پاس بیٹھ گئے۔ میں نے پوچھا یہ کون بزرگ ہیں؟ لوگوں نے بتایا کہ یہ ابودرداء رضی اللہ عنہ ہیں۔ اس پر میں نے عرض کیا کہ میں نے اللہ تعالیٰ سے دعا کی تھی کہ کوئی نیک ساتھی مجھے عطا فرما، تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو مجھے عنایت فرمایا۔ انہوں نے دریافت کیا، تمہارا وطن کہاں ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا کوفہ ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کیا تمہارے یہاں «ابن أم عبد صاحب النعلين والوساد والمطهرة» ( یعنی عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ ) نہیں ہیں؟ کیا تمہارے یہاں وہ نہیں ہیں جنہیں اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زبانی شیطان سے پناہ دے چکا ہے کہ وہ انہیں کبھی غلط راستے پر نہیں لے جا سکتا۔ ( مراد عمار رضی اللہ عنہ سے تھی ) کیا تم میں وہ نہیں ہیں جو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بتائے ہوئے بہت سے بھیدوں کے حامل ہیں جنہیں ان کے سوا اور کوئی نہیں جانتا۔ ( یعنی حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ ) اس کے بعد انہوں نے دریافت فرمایا: عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ آیت «والليل إذا يغشى» کی تلاوت کس طرح کرتے ہیں؟ میں نے انہیں پڑھ کر سنائی کہ «والليل إذا يغشى * والنهار إذا تجلى * والذكر والأنثى» اس پر انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خود اپنی زبان مبارک سے مجھے بھی اسی طرح یاد کرایا تھا۔
