Rapporté par Ibn `Abbas : Les délégués de la tribu de `Abdul-Qais sont venus et ont dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Nous venons de la tribu de Rabi`a, et il y a des infidèles de la tribu de Mudar entre toi et nous, donc nous ne pouvons venir te voir que pendant les Mois Sacrés. Donne-nous donc des instructions que nous puissions appliquer à nous-mêmes et aussi transmettre à notre peuple resté derrière nous. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) dit : « Je vous ordonne quatre choses et je vous en interdis quatre : Je vous ordonne de croire en Allah, c’est-à-dire de témoigner qu’il n’y a de divinité digne d’adoration qu’Allah (le Prophète (ﷺ) montra de la main) ; d’accomplir parfaitement la prière ; de payer la Zakat ; de jeûner le mois de Ramadan, et de donner le Khumus (un cinquième) du butin de guerre à Allah. Et je vous interdis d’utiliser Ad-dubba’, An-Naqir, Al-Hantam et Al-Muzaffat (c’est-à-dire des ustensiles servant à préparer des boissons alcoolisées). »

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ الضُّبَعِيِّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ يَقُولُ قَدِمَ وَفْدُ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّا هَذَا الْحَىَّ مِنْ رَبِيعَةَ، بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ كُفَّارُ مُضَرَ، فَلَسْنَا نَصِلُ إِلَيْكَ إِلاَّ فِي الشَّهْرِ الْحَرَامِ، فَمُرْنَا بِأَمْرٍ نَأْخُذُ مِنْهُ وَنَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ مَنْ وَرَاءَنَا. قَالَ " آمُرُكُمْ بِأَرْبَعٍ، وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ، الإِيمَانِ بِاللَّهِ شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ ـ وَعَقَدَ بِيَدِهِ ـ وَإِقَامِ الصَّلاَةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَصِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ، وَأَنْ تُؤَدُّوا لِلَّهِ خُمُسَ مَا غَنِمْتُمْ، وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ ".
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:The delegates of the tribe of `Abdul-Qais came and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! We are from the tribe of Rabi`a, and there is the infidels of the tribe of Mudar intervening between you and us, so we cannot come to you except in the Sacred Months. So please order us some instructions that we may apply it to ourselves and also invite our people whom we left behind us to observe as well." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I order you (to do) four (things) and forbid you (to do) four: I order you to believe in Allah, that is, to testify that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah (the Prophet (ﷺ) pointed with his hand); to offer prayers perfectly; to pay Zakat; to fast the month of Ramadan, and to pay the Khumus (i.e. one-fifth) of the war booty to Allah and I forbid you to use Ad-dubba', An-Naqir, Al-Hantam and Al-Muzaffat (i.e. utensils used for preparing alcoholic drinks)." ہم سے ابونعمان نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے حماد بن زید نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے ابوحمزہ ضبعی نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا ‘ وہ بیان کرتے تھے کہ قبیلہ عبدالقیس کا وفد ( دربار رسالت میں ) حاضر ہوا اور عرض کی یا رسول اللہ! ہمارا تعلق قبیلہ ربیعہ سے ہے اور قبیلہ مضر کے کفار ہمارے اور آپ کے بیچ میں بستے ہیں۔ ( اس لیے ان کے خطرے کی وجہ سے ہم لوگ ) آپ کی خدمت میں صرف ادب والے مہینوں میں حاضر ہو سکتے ہیں۔ آپ ہمیں کوئی ایسا واضح حکم فرما دیں جس پر ہم خود بھی مضبوطی سے قائم رہیں اور جو لوگ ہمارے ساتھ نہیں آ سکے ہیں انہیں بھی بتا دیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا میں تمہیں چار چیزوں کا حکم دیتا ہوں اور چار چیزوں سے روکتا ہوں ( میں تمہیں حکم دیتا ہوں ) اللہ پر ایمان لانے کا کہ اللہ کے سوا اور کوئی معبود نہیں اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے ہاتھ کو گرہ لگائی ‘ نماز قائم کرنے کا ‘ زکوٰۃ دینے کا ‘ رمضان کے روزے رکھنے کا ‘ اور اس بات کا کہ جو کچھ بھی تمہیں غنیمت کا مال ملے۔ اس میں پانچواں حصہ ( خمس ) اللہ کے لیے نکال دو اور تمہیں میں دبا ‘ نقیر ‘ حنتم اور مزفت کے استعمال سے روکتا ہوں۔
