Rapporté par Anas : Lorsque le Prophète (ﷺ) voulut écrire une lettre au souverain des Byzantins, on lui dit que ces gens ne lisaient aucune lettre sans sceau. Alors, le Prophète (ﷺ) fit faire une bague en argent – comme si je voyais encore son éclat blanc sur sa main – et il y fit graver : « Muhammad, Messager d’Allah. »

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يَقُولُ لَمَّا أَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يَكْتُبَ إِلَى الرُّومِ، قِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّهُمْ لاَ يَقْرَءُونَ كِتَابًا إِلاَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ مَخْتُومًا. فَاتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَيَاضِهِ فِي يَدِهِ، وَنَقَشَ فِيهِ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ.
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Anas:When the Prophet (ﷺ) intended to write a letter to the ruler of the Byzantines, he was told that those people did not read any letter unless it was stamped with a seal. So, the Prophet (ﷺ) got a silver ring-- as if I were just looking at its white glitter on his hand ---- and stamped on it the expression "Muhammad, Apostle of Allah
Traduction en ourdou
ہم سے علی بن جعد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو شعبہ نے خبر دی قتادہ سے، انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا کہ آپ بیان کرتے تھے کہ جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے شاہ روم کو خط لکھنے کا ارادہ کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہا گیا کہ وہ لوگ کوئی خط اس وقت تک قبول نہیں کرتے جب تک وہ سربمہر نہ ہو، چنانچہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک چاندی کی انگوٹھی بنوائی۔ گویا دست مبارک پر اس کی سفیدی میری نظروں کے سامنے ہے۔ اس انگوٹھی پر ”محمد رسول اللہ“ کھدا ہوا تھا۔
