Hadith 1200 — Livre 13: The Book of Forgetfulness (In Prayer)

Rapporté par Jabir : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) était malade, et nous avons prié derrière lui pendant qu’il était assis. Abu Bakr répétait les takbirs pour que les gens puissent les entendre. Le Prophète (ﷺ) s’est tourné vers nous et nous a vus debout, alors il nous a fait signe de nous asseoir. Nous avons donc prié derrière lui en étant assis. Quand il a terminé la prière, il a dit : "Vous venez de faire ce que les Perses et les Romains font pour leurs rois lorsqu’ils sont assis. Ne faites pas cela. Suivez vos imams : s’ils prient debout, priez debout ; s’ils prient assis, priez assis

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ اشْتَكَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَصَلَّيْنَا وَرَاءَهُ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يُكَبِّرُ يُسْمِعُ النَّاسَ تَكْبِيرَهُ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَرَآنَا قِيَامًا فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَعَدْنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا بِصَلاَتِهِ قُعُودًا فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ " إِنْ كُنْتُمْ آنِفًا تَفْعَلُونَ فِعْلَ فَارِسَ وَالرُّومِ يَقُومُونَ عَلَى مُلُوكِهِمْ وَهُمْ قُعُودٌ فَلاَ تَفْعَلُوا ائْتَمُّوا بِأَئِمَّتِكُمْ إِنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَصَلُّوا قِيَامًا وَإِنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Jabir said:"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was ill, and we prayed behind him while he was sitting, and Abu Bakr repeated his takbirs so that the people could hear them. He turned to us and saw us standing, so he gestured to us to sit down. So we prayed behind him sitting. When he said the salam he said: 'Just now you were doing what the Persians and Romans do for their kings when they are sitting. Do not do that. Follow your Imams: If they pray standing then pray standing, and if they pray sitting then pray sitting

جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں ۔ ( ایک مرتبہ ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بیمار ہوئے، تو ہم نے آپ کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی، آپ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھا رہے تھے، اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ زور سے تکبیر کہہ کر لوگوں کو آپ کی تکبیر سنا رہے تھے، ( نماز میں ) آپ ہماری طرف متوجہ ہوئے تو آپ نے ہمیں دیکھا کہ ہم کھڑے ہیں، آپ نے ہمیں بیٹھنے کا اشارہ کیا، تو ہم بیٹھ گئے، اور ہم نے آپ کی امامت میں بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھی، جب آپ نے سلام پھیرا تو فرمایا: ابھی ابھی تم لوگ فارس اور روم والوں کی طرح کر رہے تھے، وہ لوگ اپنے بادشاہوں کے سامنے کھڑے رہتے ہیں، اور وہ بیٹھے رہتے ہیں، تو تم ایسا نہ کرو، اپنے اماموں کی اقتداء کرو، اگر وہ کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھیں تو تم کھڑے ہو کر پڑھو، اور اگر بیٹھ کر پڑھیں بھی بیٹھ کر پڑھو ۱؎۔
