Rapporté par Ibn Sirin d’après Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ nous a dirigé dans l’une des deux prières du soir, Zuhr ou ‘Asr, puis il a fait les salutations après deux rak‘as et s’est dirigé vers un morceau de bois placé en direction de la Qibla dans la mosquée, s’est appuyé dessus, semblant en colère. Abu Bakr et ‘Umar faisaient partie des gens présents, mais ils n’osaient pas lui parler. Les gens sont sortis précipitamment en disant : « La prière a été raccourcie. » Parmi eux se trouvait un homme appelé Dhul-Yadain qui a dit : « Messager d’Allah, la prière a-t-elle été raccourcie ou as-tu oublié ? » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a regardé à droite et à gauche et a dit : « Qu’a dit Dhul-Yadain ? » Ils ont répondu : « Il a raison. Tu n’as prié que deux rak‘as. » Il a alors accompli deux autres rak‘as, a fait les salutations, puis a dit le takbir, a fait une prosternation, s’est relevé, a dit le takbir, a fait une autre prosternation, puis s’est relevé. (Le narrateur dit) : ‘Imran b. Husain m’a rapporté qu’il a ensuite fait les salutations

حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، - قَالَ عَمْرٌو حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، - حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ سِيرِينَ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِحْدَى صَلاَتَىِ الْعَشِيِّ إِمَّا الظُّهْرَ وَإِمَّا الْعَصْرَ فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ أَتَى جِذْعًا فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَاسْتَنَدَ إِلَيْهَا مُغْضَبًا وَفِي الْقَوْمِ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ فَهَابَا أَنْ يَتَكَلَّمَا وَخَرَجَ سَرَعَانُ النَّاسِ قُصِرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَقَامَ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَقُصِرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ أَمْ نَسِيتَ فَنَظَرَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَمِينًا وَشِمَالاً فَقَالَ " مَا يَقُولُ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ " . قَالُوا صَدَقَ لَمْ تُصَلِّ إِلاَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ . فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ فَرَفَعَ ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ وَسَجَدَ ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ وَرَفَعَ . قَالَ وَأُخْبِرْتُ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ وَسَلَّمَ .
Traduction anglaise
Ibn Sirin reported Abu Huraira as saying:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us in one of the two evening prayers, Zuhr or `Asr, and gave salutations after two rak`ahs and going towards a piece of wood which was placed to the direction of the Qibla in the mosque, leaned on it looking as if he were angry. Abu Bakr and `Umar were among the people and they were too afraid to speak to him and the people came out in haste (saying): The prayer has been shortened. But among them was a man called Dhul-Yadain who said: Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been shortened or have you forgotten? The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) looked to the right and left and said: What was Dhul-Yadain saying? They said: He is right. You (the Holy Prophet) offered but two rak`ahs. He offered two (more) rak`ahs and gave salutation, then said takbir and prostrated and lifted (his head) and then said takbir and prostrated, then said takbir and lifted (his head). He (the narrator) says: It has been reported to me by `Imran b. Husain that he said: He (then) gave salutation
Traduction en ourdou
سفیان بن عیینہ نے کہا : ہم سے ایوب نے حدیث بیان کی ، انھوں نے کہا : میں نے محمد بن سیرین سے سنا ، وہ کہہ رہے تھے : میں نےحضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا ، وہ کہہ رہے تھے : ہمیں رسول اللہ ﷺ نے دوپہر کے بعد کی ایک نماز ظہر یا عصر پڑھائی اور دو رکعتوں کے بعد سلام پھیر دیا ، پھر قبلے کی سمت ( گڑے ہوئے ) کجھور کے ایک تنےکے پاس آئے اور غصے کی کیفیت میں اس سے ٹیک لگا لی ۔ لوگوں میں ابو بکر و عمر رضی اللہ عنہ موجود ( بھی ) تھے ، انھوں نے آپ کی ہیبت کی بنا پر گفتگو نہ کی جبکہ جلد باز لوگ ( نماز پڑھتے ہی ) نکل گئے ، اور کہنے لگے : نماز میں کمی ہو گئی ہے ۔ تو ذوالیدین ( نامی شخص ) کھڑا ہوا اور کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا نماز مختصر کر دی گئی ہے یا آپ بھول گئے ہیں ؟ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے دائیں اور بائیں دیکھ کر پوچھا : ’’ ذوالیدین کیا کہہ رہا ہے ؟ ‘ ‘ لوگوں نے کہا : سچ کہہ رہا ہے ، آپ نے دو رکعتیں ہی پڑھی ہیں ۔ چنانچہ آپ نے دو رکعتیں ( مزید ) پڑھیں اور سلام پھیر دیا ، پھر اللہ اکبر کہا اور سجدہ کیا ، بھر اللہ اکبر کہا اور سر اٹھایا ، پھر اللہ اکبر کہا اور سجد ہ کیا ، پھر اللہ اکبر کہا اور سر اٹھایا ۔ ( محمد بن سیرین نے ) کہا : عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہ کے حوالے سے مجھے بتایا گیا کہ انھوں نے کہا : اور سلام پھیرا ۔
