Hadith 928 — Livre 4: The Book of Prayers
كتاب الصلاة
Rapporté par Jabir رضي الله عنه : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ était malade et nous avons prié derrière lui alors qu’il était assis. Abu Bakr faisait entendre le takbir aux gens. Quand il a tourné son attention vers nous, il nous a vus debout et nous a fait signe de nous asseoir. Nous nous sommes donc assis et avons prié avec lui en étant assis. Après avoir terminé la prière, il a dit : « Vous étiez sur le point de faire comme les Perses et les Romains : ils restent debout devant leurs rois pendant que ceux-ci sont assis. Ne faites pas cela ; suivez vos imams. S’ils prient debout, priez debout ; s’ils prient assis, priez assis. »

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ اشْتَكَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَصَلَّيْنَا وَرَاءَهُ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يُسْمِعُ النَّاسَ تَكْبِيرَهُ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَرَآنَا قِيَامًا فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَعَدْنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا بِصَلاَتِهِ قُعُودًا فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ " إِنْ كِدْتُمْ آنِفًِا لَتَفْعَلُونَ فِعْلَ فَارِسَ وَالرُّومِ يَقُومُونَ عَلَى مُلُوكِهِمْ وَهُمْ قُعُودٌ فَلاَ تَفْعَلُوا ائْتَمُّوا بِأَئِمَّتِكُمْ إِنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَصَلُّوا قِيَامًا وَإِنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا " .
Traduction anglaise
Jabir reported:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was ill and we said prayer behind him and he was sitting. And Abu Bakr was making audible to the people his takbir. As he paid his attention towards us he saw us standing and (directed us to sit down) with a gesture. So we sat down and said our prayer with his prayer in a sitting posture. After uttering salutation he said: You were at this time about to do an act like that of the Persians and the Romans. They stand before their kings while they sit, so don't do that; follow your Imams. If they say prayer standing, you should also do so, and if they say prayer sitting, you should also say prayer sitting

۔ لیث نے ابو زبیر سے اور انہوں نے حضرت جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہﷺ كی بیماری میں ہم نے آپ كے پیچھے اس طرح نماز پڑھی كہ آپ نے بیٹھ كر نماز پڑھائی اور حضرت صدیق اكبر رضی اللہ عنہ مكبر كی حیثیت میں تكبیرات كہتے تھے . نماز میں ہمیں كھڑا دیكھ كر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں بیٹھنے كا حكم دیا تو ہم بیٹھ گئے پھر بعد فراغت نماز ارشاد عالی ہوا تم نے اس وقت وہ كام كیا جیسا كہ فارس اور روم والے اپنے بادشاہ كے سامنے كھڑے رہتے ہیں اور بادشاہ بیٹھا رہتا ہے . اب آئندہ ایسا نہ كرنا بلكہ ہمیشہ اپنے امام كی پیروی كرو اگر وہ بیٹھ كر نماز پڑھائے تو تم بھی بیٹھ كر نماز پڑھو
