Hadith 5671 — Livre 39: The Book of Greetings

Rapporté par Aïcha رضي الله عنها : Aïcha a rapporté que les épouses du Messager d’Allah ﷺ sortaient la nuit, à l’abri des regards, pour aller dans les champs à la périphérie de Médine afin de se soulager. Omar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه disait : « Ô Messager d’Allah, demande à tes femmes de se couvrir. » Mais le Messager d’Allah ﷺ ne le fit pas. Un soir, Saouda bint Zam’a رضي الله عنها, l’épouse du Prophète ﷺ, qui était une femme de grande taille, sortit alors qu’il faisait sombre. Omar l’interpella en disant : « Saouda, nous t’avons reconnue. » (Il espérait ainsi que des versets sur le voile seraient révélés.) Aïcha a dit : « Allah, le Très-Haut et le Glorieux, a ensuite révélé les versets concernant le voile. »

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلُ بْنُ، خَالِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ أَزْوَاجَ، رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كُنَّ يَخْرُجْنَ بِاللَّيْلِ إِذَا تَبَرَّزْنَ إِلَى الْمَنَاصِعِ وَهُوَ صَعِيدٌ أَفْيَحُ وَكَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ يَقُولُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم احْجُبْ نِسَاءَكَ . فَلَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَفْعَلُ فَخَرَجَتْ سَوْدَةُ بِنْتُ زَمْعَةَ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَيْلَةً مِنَ اللَّيَالِي عِشَاءً وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَةً طَوِيلَةً فَنَادَاهَا عُمَرُ أَلاَ قَدْ عَرَفْنَاكِ يَا سَوْدَةُ . حِرْصًا عَلَى أَنْ يُنْزِلَ الْحِجَابَ . قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْحِجَابَ .
Traduction anglaise
A'isha reported that the wives of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to go out in the cover of night when they went to open fields (in the outskirts of Medina) for easing themselves. 'Umar b Khattab used to say:Allah's Messenger, ask your ladies to observe veil, but Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) did not do that. So there went out Sauda, daughter of Zarn'a, the wife of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), during one of the nights when it was dark. She was a tall statured lady. 'Umar called her saying: Sauda, we recognise you. (He did this with the hope that the verses pertaining to veil would be revealed.) 'A'isha said: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, then revealed the verses pertaining to veil

عقیل بن خالد نے ابن شہاب سے ، انھوں نے عروہ بن زبیر سے ، انھوں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ازواج جب رات کو قضائے حاجت کے لئے باہر نکلتیں تو "" المناصع "" کی طرف جاتی تھیں ، وہ دور ایک کھلی ، بڑی جگہ ہے ۔ اور حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے یہ عرض کرتے رہتے تھے کہ آپ اپنی ازواج کو پردہ کرائیں ، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( کسی حکمت کی بنا پر ) ایسا نہیں کرتے تھے ، پھر ایک رات کو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اہلیہ حضرت سودہ بنت زمعہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا عشاء کے وقت ( قضائے حاجت کے لئے ) باہرنکلیں ، وہ دراز قدخاتون تھیں ، تو عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے اس حرص میں کہ حجاب نازل ہوجائے ، پکار کر ان سے کہا : سودہ! ہم نے آپ کو پہچان لیا ہے ۔ حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے کہا : اس پر اللہ تعالیٰ نے حجاب نازل فرمادیا ۔
